I want to open a pub

I know this is totally random, but, over the last couple of months, I've thought to myself that I really want to. I live in rutherford county, pretty much the middle of nowhere, in western North Carolina, and there's nothing like a pub with in a 45 minute drive.

I'm in the computer hardware engineering business, so I really know nothing of running a business other than te handling of finances at retail businesses growing up. However, one of my good friends is a financial analyst who works at a major banking company.

Does anyone own a small business? Does anyone here ever have dreams of owning their own business?

 

A gastropub serves food, and it should be very good food to boot.  Do you have any cooking/culinary backgrounds?

 

 

A Pub by itself should have plenty of micro brews and drafts....folks who occupy the middle of nowhere are not known for their taste in beer and cuisine.

 

 

Do you want to get out of the 40 hour per week grind?  Is this a dream?  Have you ever worked as a waiter/bartender/cook in a restaurant before?  Do you plan on shutting down your career to open said place?

 

Also, how much money do you have saved up for the business vs. how much saved up personally?

 

 

 

Answer some of these questions and then I can help you a bit more.  I do have a background in this business, although it's not my career.
