Anonymous offensive assistant coach on Panthers D

Speaking of Luke trying to do too much, if you go back to GB's second drive last week, it was 3rd and 4 and we dropped into a zone.  Nelson was in the slot and TD made contact to stunt the timing with him as he was running a shallow cross.  Luke appeared to me to play man on Lacey coming out of the backfield instead of staying in his zone and Nelson was wide open for a 10 yard or so gain.  He caught the ball where Luke would have been had he not went out on Lacey.

The other thing they have consistently been is ranked highly within a few years of his taking over. It takes time to learn this defense and play well in it. Changing out the secondary and injuries play havoc though as you don't have the experienced guys you need to run this defense.

The offseason was a disaster. You can't let all your experience out the door. I think they undervalued too many of their players including a Panther GOAT. When a player performs well reward the guy. That gets lost in "business as usual" these days.
