cam makes his shitty shitty shitty UDFA line look like a bottom five squad, when nearly any other QB in the league wouldn't be able to make up for their ineptitude and they'd be in discussion with the 2006 raiders for worst offensive line in NFL history.

Are you referring to all those times Newton just stands in the pocket without even the slightest attempt to drift right or left while the pocket collapses around him???

The most hurried QB in the NFL this season is Phillip Rivers. And that was before last nights game.

 

Meanwhile, the Chargers are 32nd in the NFL is yards per carry at 3.0. Dead last.

 

Exactly how is Phillip Rivers making up for this ineptitude???

Sure, the man takes off occasionally, but as far as moving in the pocket to buy time to throw downfield...not so much.

This was never intended to be a "Cam Newton" thread, but by golly here we are !!!

Anyway, I am not going to argue with a true believer.

I am sure in the Bengals game for instance, the game where Carolina had 46 passing attempts, 0 sacks and 4 QB hits, no other QB in the league would have survived. Only Cam...LOL.

Worst OL in NFL history gave its QB cleans pockets too. Saying Cam gets decent pockets often doesnt mean our OL is average

Our OL is a joke.

Newton is literally the very last person on the list of people to blame for our shortcomings.

 

I did not blame Newton for anything.

 

I was just pointing out that Seattle has had just as many problems in pass protection as the Panthers have.

 

It is one of the reasons they are struggling.

 

I am not sure how pointing this out became an indictment of Newton...perhaps hypersensitivity is the answer.

 

It is a very strange fan base indeed that gets angered because someone comes to the defense of a portion of the team---just by saying it is not as terrible as some would like to make out.

      Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.

      I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
