Rosolie, 26, has created a "snake-proof" suit, and allowed himself to be eaten alive by a massive anaconda for an upcoming Discovery Channel TV special, aptly titled "Eaten Alive".

Ratings is the only thing I can think of. I agree with it being pointless. I think it's already been taped and the guy and snake are supposedly fine.

I am going to make a pitch to the Animal Planet to film me getting swallowed by one of those whale sharks to go up against this Discovery channel show. Going to tie a rope around my ankle so someone can pull me back out. Anyone want in on this before I become filthy rich?

Heard this show was already filmed. It want be live or tape delayed. He's alive and well. So I guess we will have to wait and see how he makes it out.

I read that animal rights groups were protesting this.  The guy says no I'm a snake lover.  But in order to get him out they'll have to cut him out, which would kill the snake. It's a prank I bet.

And, for what it's worth I'd rather see a person as the prized cargo in the "egg drop experiment" mentioned elsewhere in this forum. Dropped from, say, 15-20 stories off a roof.

Pointless and unscientific.

FWIW I don't think the guy is going to allow himself to be fully swallowed. I am assuming it would be a limb, both legs, whatever... He still needs oxygen, so I doubt he goes head first or allows himself to be swallowed up to his ribs.
