Trying out something on FanDuel

I'm averaging projected point totals from numerous sources. Then I'm applying that data to the salary cost to figure out which players give the highest expected return in relation to cost. PPPC (projected points per cost) if you will. With this information I'm creating a roster that mathematically has the maximum projected points possible given the restraints of cap space and player cost.

The mathematics pushed me into picking players I wouldn't normally. From my own personal eye test it looks like a middle of the road roster but this is what the math gives me as the best possible roster combination overall (at least according to projections). This will be the first week I'm trying this out, I'll update with how it goes.

This is what I do as well using footballguys projections.

Hasn't worked very well lol

Somewhat promising results, still needs some fine tuning. I had 4 guys really flop and fall way under projections and still came within 2 points of cashing playing the double up. Actually I would have cashed if not for the built in house juice, oh well. Anyway, normally you can only get away with one or two flops for a week and still cash so this is actually somewhat promising even though I just barely missed the money.

I did all the calculations by hand this time but I'm gonna go ahead and write a program that will run through all possible roster combinations (I think there's about 600 million) and spit out the top 10 maximum projected rosters possible. Then I'll choose a few to play from there. Also, going to research to find the most accurate projections as those are key.

Nice. I think I will do the same and we can compare rosters. Unfortunately I don't have the software to run through all 600M combos but can do a few hundred thousand or use a solver.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
