SuperCam Detractors... answers needed...

I just want cam to be consistent is that to much to ask? All the issues surrounded aside, cam struggles with accuracy and awareness sometimes. At one point in time against the falcons we went thru 3 or 4 straight 3 and outs. I can remember at least 2 where he had the check down for the first and he chose to throw the deeper route. He forces to much. If he can get that down he will be fine until then im happy with him. But he has to get it soon, and mask some of our problems.

The desperation is palpable.

Peyton Manning has a career sack percentage of 3.1.

Cam Newton has a career sack percentage of 7.5.

Cam Newton gets sacked over twice as often as Peyton Manning.

5 times in his remarkable career, Manning has had the lowest sack percentage of any QB in the NFL.

He has played behind some good offensive and some bad offensive lines during his 17 year career, but one thing remains constant: Peyton Manning doesn't get sacked.

Peyton in a body cast??? Outside of the season he missed due to neck surgery back in 2011, Manning has started every game in his career. 250 of them, in fact...nearly 5 times as many as an already gimpy Cam Newton...

I guarantee if Manning played for our offense exactly as it is now, we would have a winning record.

Manning behind this oline? LOL you're joking right? Cam gets hit more than any qb in the league counting only hits from inside the pocket. Manning would be put in a retirement home because of this oline.

With the age difference and the number of hits (Cam has way more, even said it during the broadcast) Manning would be in a body cast. During the Thursday night game, they said Cam is the most hit QB in the NFL.

Manning wouldn't be in a body cast because Manning gets rid of the football. Manning will often throw the football away and still complete nearly 70% of his passes.  Newton almost never throws the ball away and can barely complete 60% of his passes. The only QB's completing a lower percentage of their passes this season than Cam Newton are Mike Glennon, Geno Smith and Brian Hoyer.

Newton takes a lot of hits because he runs the zone read and because he basically refuses to throw the football away.

The whole "mobile QB", zone read phenomenon is going away...quickly. Look at this years stats among QB's who flourished in spread, zone read college systems...

BOB III finished 3rd in the NFL in passer rating in 2012 a number Newton has never even approached...care to jump on the RG III as the future in the franchise bandwagon???

Would have loved to see Manning throw it away yesterday when Cam got creamed blindsided, and took a shot to the head.

I am sure in his 250 career NFL starts, Manning has been blindsided a number of times.

Of course, Manning also tends to recognize when blitzes are coming and he also will often aid his offensive line by pointing out assignments based on the opposing defense...Cam...well, not so much.

Guess your missing my point, I'm not talking about the past, if Manning (age factor) got hit as many times as Cam has this year, he would be in the hospital, just the hit alone yesterday would have put Manning on the concussion list.

I am so certain Cam is NOT the answer at QB id be willing to let him walk and risk him becoming a superstar elsewhere, yes hes that bad and I know for certain he wouldnt become a great player elsewhere. His mechanics are terrible, his complete unwillingness to throw the ball away, his terrible pocket presence and his terrible deep ball, he is an awful awful QB and I hope Gettleman has the guts to let him walk and we draft a QB in the 2nd round.

Before you say "but but QBs are hard to find in the draft." Ok, so the solution is paying a below mediocre QB like Cam 100 plus million?! How about we save the 80 mill and draft a QB on the cheap in later rounds.

Dalton, Kaeprnick, Wilson. ALL drafted after the first round and I would trade Cam for any of them in a split second

And this is why your opinion isn't viable or credible.

The most dependent position on the field needs other to be just as consistent as he needs to be.

You want Cam to be more consistent I want everybody around him to be more consistent as well.

No QB makes a perfect pass every throw that's just facts.

But a QB can't be consistent when the oline, play calling, WR, or running game isn't consistent.

Peyton Manning would not get hit as often as Cam has this year because he is a completely different style of player.

And you are sure yesterday's hit would have put Manning on the concussion list because... ???

Because you would like it to be so???

You are talking out of your butt. Manning has been in the NFL for 17 years. Let's see how long Cam Newton lasts...

It's funny how certain people can't see the pattern of events.

1. Injured off-season no prep work done..

2. Badly assembled Oline

3. No consistent running game to lean on

4. New weapons and little to no work with them. Some of them not good enough to be called weapons anyway..

5. The only consistent part of the team the defense. Completely falls apart. .

At what point does these things not effect a QB play??

I also would love for Tony N to show his post count last year when Cam was playing well..
