Marshawn Lynch's good deed

I really think you all would expect me to hate the guy but I do not.  I love Lynch.  I love his play, I adore his personality because he is true to himself even if he is a bit of a jerk, and I very much appreciate the no nonsense approach he takes to a lot of stuff.

The Seahawks robbed him from us on that trade, it sucked.  A 4th for him?  Jeesh, but he was not going to succeed in Buffalo and it was better for him even if we wasted the pick.

Anyway, Lynch found a wallet at the gas station and drove it to the owner.  He gets a lot of bad press over nonsense but this is making some headlines and it is good to see.  In Buffalo he supposedly took $20 out of a woman's hand at Applebees, refused to pay at several of the locations, and then hit a woman with his truck (though, that was overblown).

Off topic which its good to see him do good btw,

I think the reason buffalo was willing to trade him for a 4th rounder is because the incident when he hit the women with a truck he got charged for a DUI correct? He had a gun charge which resulted in him being suspended, and he was injuried each year he played there. On top of the other stuff going on, he was on the old rookie scale for contracts, Fred Jackson came out of no where (much cheaper and no incidents) which made it easier to let him go. Hindsight is 20/20 but I remember thinking it was good he was traded cause he couldn't stay out of trouble and this could be a wake up call.

Before drafting Spiller the Bills had J Bell, Marshawn and Fred Jackson on their roster.  Then they added Spiller.

It was good for him to be traded, Carroll has always loved Lynch - even out of HS.

It was great to do that. I heard it was even a 49ers wallet.

it was a Seattle fan. The guy said he wanted a pic with Lynch at the gas station but decided not to bother him. He was happy his neighbor got to meet Lynch and WR Ricardo Lockette, who unfortunately is getting no credit for the co-good deed bc he's not famous

Yeah, because the NFL fining him for not speaking to the press is a clear indication the guy is a jerk. This because it's the only way you could ever consider it a possibility of knowing the guy.

The misdemeanor gun charge in California? The gun was inside his backpack, which was in the trunk of his car. Not like it was on the console next to him. That was in 2009, by the way. Since joining the Seahawks in 2010, there have been no issues... but please don't allow anyone to grow up, mature or otherwise pay their debt and move on.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
