Gary Neal and Lance Stephenson

If one of you has a DVR or knows what I'm talking about, can you check something for me.

Today is the first time I've seen Gary Neal frustrated, and he looked pissed at Lance.

First Instance: Lance was holding the ball at the top of the key, looked right at Neal (who was wide open) and completely went the other way. Neal was waving his arms wildly and looked visibly upset.

Second Instance: Someone was shooting a free throw (I believe it was Kemba) and Lance went over to the bench. Pargo gave Lance some advice and it appears that Lance said something back and brushed him off. Neal who happened to be sitting next to Pargo heard the conversation and looked absolutely LIVID at Stephenson's response to Pargo.

It might just be me, but I sense a big rift betweent those two.

Like I said in the other thread, the beef between those two specifically has been brewing since day one. They've been going back and forth, especially with gestures since the first week of the season. I think now, because of the trade rumors, the other guys are starting to lash out visibly at him because he isn't viewed as the prized free agent he was when we signed him.

I honestly think that is what pissed a lot of people off with him too. He didn't earn the incumbents' respect, he just came in guns blazing and talking poo, not respecting the fact that these guys were really tight knit and already here.

Would love to see a DVR of the reactions when they call for screens, Al posts up, screams for the ball, backs down and clanks a contested bunny off the rim, complains for a foul, then jogs like a 60 year old at the Y back down the court.

In one offseason this roster went from lovable underdogs to underwhelming, flawed basketball players. Losing sucks.

The disdain on Neal and Pargo's faces was clear. Lance is as disinterested in listening to ANYONE as I've seen. If we acquired a legit 2 guard who can shoot and moved lance to backup PG, we would be a better team. The problem there though is that Lance stays and continues his destruction of team chemistry. I was all for the signing, but it hasn't worked, and we're in a very tough spot with a terrible record and what appears to be a Lance vs. everyone situation.

    • General tone of the thread. Probably shouldn't have quoted you directly. Not to mention, this White kid has a career 6.8 Yds IAY. Bryce is 7.7. That is not even an upgrade in targets down the field. It's literally a downgrade.
    • The scope of the limitations is so far beyond long bombs. Nobody here is clamoring for us just to run straight up go routes on repeat. There are crucial throws defenses know we can't convert such as down the sideline that almost always result in either the ball going several feet over the receivers head out of bounds or the receiver having to leap into the air and make an acrobatic attempt to haul it in or having to completely slow down or stop. It's off the table and defenses know it and sooner or later we were going to walk into another buzzsaw like against the Patriots. Nobody here is in love with Hendon Hooker or Mike White. It wasn't us who made the decision to ignore the depth of the QB room two years in a row. You can whail at people for discussing it all you want. If you're bothered by the discussion then all up Dan Morgan and bitch at him about the fact we are having to discuss the likes of Dalton Hooker or White. It isn't our fault.
    • But we have the qb whisperer or so I've been told
