Marvel vs DC

Didn't they do a whole set of comics on this some years back?

they've done several joint efforts over the years... the first and potentially biggest being the Superman vs. Spider-Man comic

there were several JLA vs. Avengers comics as well and in the 90's they did the Amalgam (branded) comics that were actual DC characters melded with Marvel characters - such as Batman and Wolverine becoming Darkclaw

in the 90's the relationship between Marvel and DC fell apart though and most people assume something like this will never happen again (in print form, anyway)

I'd say more shows =/= better shows tho

this coming year will be a game changer for Marvel TV too... AoS is lightyears better this season than last (and I liked last). Agent Carter should be awesome and will hopefully drop some hints for Ant Man (since she's assisting Tony's father and she'll be popping up in Ant Man as well) and when these Netflix shows get rolling this year starting with Daredevil, it will be game over for DC TV imo

admittedly, I'm a Marvel guy waaaaaaay before DC and the only show I'm (somehow still) watching is Gotham... everything else looks like cheap, CW garbage and Constantine has already been pulled from my DVR recordings

not that Marvel TV is going to kill off DC TV... they can obviously co-exist, but any little bit of caring I had for the DC world will be squashed with all the awesomeness Marvel will be putting out

it's crazy... 5 years ago, the thought of tying TV and movie universes all together would have been ridiculously outlandish, and now most people think DC is shooting themselves in the foot by saying that TV and movie are two completely different universes with no crossover

I think the suicide squad is going to be one of DCs best. Great cast and a director that has made some pretty good movies in the past. Its the kind of movie Marvel hasn't done yet.

this is the one movie that has me intrigued with what DC is trying to do, and only because of the cast

nothing else really piques my interest... batman/superman is a money grab, and could be ASM2 bad with everything it's trying to introduce

hell, i'm more excited about Fox's plans of expanding the x-universe than i am with WB and DC

although, mamoa is a badass and seeing him play aquaman will be interesting

    • It's not only about the draft spots, the scheduling is a huge factor. We already have a tough 2026 schedule by playing the North divisions, that's possibly 7 playoff contenders there and a few true SB contenders between the Lions, Packers, Vikings, Bears, Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers (Browns will still suck lol), while also pulling the AFC West for the 17th game. Let's just say for the sake of argument we are going to be true contenders in 2026 in both scenarios Would you rather go 9-8 and to make the playoffs as the last WC or worst division winner, lose in the first round and then have to add likely the Eagles/Commanders, 49ers/Rams, and Chiefs/Chargers to an already tough schedule because we have a 1st/2nd round finish this year, while picking 19th in the draft (where the worst playoff team picks) or Or lose an extra game to finish 8-9, while ending up in 3rd (obviously need Falcons/Bucs to get a WC spot) and miss the playoffs, but then get to add likely the Cowboys/Giants, Seahawks/Cardinals, Broncos/Raiders to the schedule while picking 13th in the draft (the highest an 8-9 team picked this year). I can understand why some people would just want to go to the playoffs again, and I can't fault that thinking.  But I'm always a bigger picture person and looking at what is best for the future of the franchise and winning a SB, not my immediate feelings that game/season.   So I'm taking those 3 SIGNIFICANTLY easier games and the 6 better draft spots. If we're a true contender in 2026, those 3 games based on divisional finish could very well be the difference of a 1 vs whatever seed.  Right now the top teams in the NFC are the teams who play in places you don't want to have road playoff games at... GB, Detroit, Philly are some of the toughest stadiums to play in, especially if cold weather games for the outdoors ones.  Give me the few extra easier games to hopefully make the difference in getting home field advantage. Making the playoffs to just lose in the first round isn't worth the first scenario to me when the alternative is losing maybe one or two more games while looking better while doing so.  I can stomach those extra losses in a much improved season when it's for the betterment of our future.
    • We also watched Cam take Carolina to the SB but how much did his career change when he went to the Pats? See how that works? You create a post just to rag on player on another team just because you hate. You love to do this stuff. I've seen it for a few years. You are one of the main problems on this site. Not just y0u but you're definitely one of them. This topic should be in the nfl general chat. As a mod I would think you would understand that but no. The mods need mods around here.  This is for Panther's material. Can a real mod move this thread to it's proper place please?
