Devin Smith, WR Ohio St

i like Dorsett a lot. has the same speed that Smith has, but has experience running many different types of routes compared to Smith. he is smaller, but he gets vertical quickly with legit deep speed. Miami strength and conditioning coach said he ran a 4.18 or 4.21 something crazy last spring. has had some issues with health tho, and hands are inconsistent at times. had a huge week, and cannot wait to see him play tonight.

Watched many of Canes games living down here in Miami. Do Not want Dorsett unless it's Late. Kid does have speed.

He's thin and not very strong and hands are no better than Lafails, quite possibly worse. Smith can get up and snag the ball. Only thing Dorsett has on Smith is a little speed and played in a more pro style O.

I have been a fan of him all year. While I thought we could be able to draft him in the 3rd round he may have worked his way into the second round. While I feel we have more important needs in the first two rounds like safety and tackle,I wouldn't be against drafting smith in the 3rd round.

Do you guys see value in Devin Smith at 25?

Like I said earlier I think he goes somewhere in the range of where Paul Richardson went last year. It's entirely possible he is sitting there in the 2nd when we pick but teams would have to rank him behind guys like Agholor and Dorsett.

Cooper

White

DGB

Parker

Perriman

Strong

Agholor

Dorsett

Smith?

If he's ranked 9th then there's a chance he's around in the 2nd. I love what he brings though and see some value there at 25. He plays the deep ball better than anyone else. He can go up and get it as well and can be used in the redzone. He compliments KB better than Jaelen does and brings that speed/big play element that we're so badly lacking.

Plus, it'd be awesome if he just added an 8 to his college number in Carolina...

I feel Devin Smith will be a gret NFL wide receiver. He has the tools and if you look at the records he broke at Ohio State you will see his name around some great wide receivers such as Chris Carter. I don't think he is first round material but he may be gone before we pick in the 2nd. He would be the speedy WR we need in our offense. He is a much better receiver than Ginn is and has more potential.

I'm starting to warm up to Smith. I'd still take Strong over him. But after him I like Smith just above Perriman. Smith kinda reminds me of a poor mans odell beckham jr. Good athletic ability and hands, really good tools for our staff to work with

    • When a team has EXPECTATIONS you have to show them that your fandom and praise is EARNED.  People would be mad if the they lost two one goal competitive games like 2023 but they wouldn't have gotten booed out of the building because the effort and competitiveness would be there but to lose in THAT fashion at home with your entire top line going free lance and saying fug this yeahhh.
    • Well with back to back road games to open the season again we really can't afford a "slow start" at least not for the psyche of the fanbase that is already at rock bottom from years of losing. I think that will depend on our approach to preseason this go around. But I do agree the makings of a culture change could be big for us. At the same time we heard talk of this last year and then we got the doors blown off multiple times. I can agree with you it's best to try to maintain perspective until we get closer to the midway point of the season. The main things I want to see early on even if we aren't necessarily winning is spark and toughness from the offense and defense and at least keeping games close.
    • First goal hmmm im going with Verhague
