The flu

Anyone else have it? I've had it since Saturday evening, worst flu I've ever had hands down. Temp got to 103.5 yesterday and I'm back up to 102.4 today. Hard to get out of bed most of the day. If you think you're getting sick get some tamiflu ASAP and try to avoid it. It's like the black plague.

just now getting over it, about two weeks of a cough. but it came on with a high fever and body aches. This is what I get for talking poo about flu shots...

I've heard the flu shot hasn't done a damn thing for this strain of flu.

was just at the doc the other day and the nurse asked me if i'd gotten the shot. I said no and she said no use in getting it this is the most useless shot in years.

Annual flu shots protect you from 6-10 different strains (I don't remember the exact number). Not every strain is the same, and at least half can mutate in each individual person it infects. The more people who are unprotected, the higher the likelihood of a strain mutating to a strain with no protection.

That isn't to say the WHO's recommended vaccinations are always remotely accurate (it wasn't this year) but if more people were protected against it, the strains would mutate a little slower.

I had it. Didn't ever take my temperature but woke up freezing and covered in sweat five straight nights starting Christmas. Went to the game Saturday and I'm just now feeling myself again

So you have the flu & still went & exposed yourself with close contact to thousands of people while standing around in cold, wet weather.

Moron.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
