Dream scenario

1st: Jaelen Strong- There is a good possibility he will be gone by the time he gets to us, but the kid is Big and Athletic with Outstanding hands.  Would form a perfect combo with KB.  Also if we lock up Jennings, this group will be the best we've seen in Carolina in awhile.

Alternate pick: DJ Humphries

2: Cedric Ogbuehi- was graded out as one of the top OT's in the draft prior to the knee injury.  Gettleman has stated that Oher can be our guy at LT.  With Oher there, this will give Ogbuehi almost a redshirt year to recover and get up to NFL speed.

Alternate: Breshad Perriman

3rd: Kwon Alexander- Solid OLB to go with Luke and TD.  Also start to groom TD's future replacement

4th: Doran Grant- That Athletic Corner that Gettleman is looking for to pair across from Norman letting Bene slide to nickel.

5th: Rob Havenstein- Big Nasty Mean RT to create some good competition on that Right Side.  Also provide good depth at OG.

5th: Anthony Chickillo- Athletic DE with good upside that never quite lived up to the Hype at the U

6th: Ray Drew- Big Athletic DE who can play inside and out.  Stock dropped some due to his drop in play this year.  Gettleman Loves his DL and Chickillo/Drew will cause some Big competition on that DL.

6th: John Crocket

7th: BPA

Remmers looked decent towards the end of the season.  But there is going to be a Few really talented guys who will be around this range due to

1. Depth of this OT class

2. the guys around here fell due to question them playing LT.

Thompson, Williams (his teammate at Oklahoma), and Poutasi are Nasty Big mauler OT's with tons of talent in the 3rd round range.  Yes they may not start right away.  But guaranteed they will move into that role into the season ala Turner and Norwell last year.

I like it, but part of me doubts Thompson comes in and takes remmers' job just like that

We had 1 or 2 other young guys start to look alright last year.  He's been off the field al Lot the last 2 years.  Between the other young guys starting to look alright and drafting Chickillo to try to groom.  Cutting him to try to open a little cap is a good option.

I don't know about cutting Alexander. Not sure what is gained by that. I know the suspensions are hanging over him but he's not Josh Gordon wackadoodle and isn't a big expense. Might be another thread altogether but to me Frank might stick

    • Ehlers is AWESOME. I don’t care if he scores or not, he puts others in great positions. He is one of the best passers and speed skaters I have seen! F all these haters. I read today, some guy said that Ehlers doesn’t fit our system. Who cares, dude is Necas with better puck handling abilities. I’m thinking about buying a jersey right now, though I’m not a fan of the new away jerseys.
    • It is as much about forcing the defense to defend the whole field as anything else. The success rate is less important. It is nice when you hook up but it has much value as a threat. They have to see you do it to believe you will do it.  As far the frequency, the player transcends three play callers, multiple staffs, with pretty much the same frequency. It doesn’t get called.  All you really have to do to see it is look at the week three games of 2023 and 2024 with Dalton under center. Just watch. That’s all. You don’t need stats. If you can’t see it, I don’t think you want to see it.
