Official Panthers - Ravens Gameday Thread...

not looking for a win tonight, just wanna see the d show ALLOT of improvement and the offense be able to move the ball down field. and also no injuries

Agreed....I don't give a ding-dong on who wins; just don't want to see Baltimore run for 9, 12, or 22 yards every play or our offense go 3 and out everytime they get the ball and the Ravens will be an excellent test to see how ready the Cats are for the Iggles.

GO PANTHERS!!!

Are any of the following expected to play?:

Moose

Smitty

Williams

Stewart (that has to be an almost 100% no)

I think it will look pretty scary if they are missing all or most of those guys and have to play the 1st string D I saw vs the Jets.

Ray Rice et al will be a good test of their rush D.

Fox ain't sayin

Coach John Fox said Friday some regulars who have been limited by injuries this preseason – and who are unlikely to play tonight – could play next week against Pittsburgh in the Panthers' final exhibition. That last exhibition is one in which Fox plays starters sparingly (last season, in fact, they didn't play at all against the Steelers in the final exhibition). Receiver Steve Smith, linebacker Thomas Davis and running back Jonathan Stewart haven't played in the first two exhibitions. Fox wouldn't say whether they would play today. Stewart, who hasn't practiced in more than two weeks because of a sore Achilles, is a virtual certainty not to play against the Ravens.

    • Thank you so much for posting links to the players so I don’t have to copy and paste the name and look it up.
    • All signs point to legit. We’ve been way better than our record the last few years it’s just we’ve had brutal injury luck. Also I’ve watched nearly every game this year and 3 things have stood out to me even when healthy from early in the year to now: 1. Early on Lee had some brutal rotations and situational coaching but he’s improved a ton there. We lost some close ones early we should’ve won. Sure most our recent games have been blowouts but in close games we’ve improved a ton there. 2. Defense. Overall team defense has improved so much, it’s not just hot shooting winning games. This D is absolutely a real trend and sustainable. LaMelo in particular has gone from flat out bad defensively to above average. We have so much length we always should’ve been good defensively but it took time for guys to buy in and really hone in on it which they have.   3. Pretty much all our young guys have taken strides forward. Moose’s development as a passer has been insane, Miller is putting it all together to be an elite 3 tier scorer able to hit 3s, mid range and finish at the rim. LaMelo still some poor shot selection but has cut the turnovers considerably. Kon has been a great shooter all year but has steadily improved in other aspects of the game too.      It has definitely been surprising how quickly it all came together out of nowhere but really none of it surprises me. We’ve been building towards this for years now.
