The question I have is do we really need to make any splashes for this position?  In my opinion we have a solid group presently.  The trait that was obviously missing last year was speed.  This has been addressed with the addition of Ted.

 

Bersin: was solid for us minus the KR/PR.  That issue is no longer an issue.

 

KB: going into his second year.  He was not happy with his performance and the drops I expect him to be greatly improved next season.

 

 

Cotch:  There is quite a bit of hate but this guy is a solid 3rd down receiver.  

 

Olson:  Nothing needs to be said 

 

The practice squad guys such as Stephen Hill, Mike Brown might be something the Panthers look at but I do not see a glaring need at this point to go out and drop 6-8 million dollars on a wide receiver when it could and should be spent on the o-line.

You have to have an upgrade at some point for Bersin and Cotchery. They have no redeeming qualities for the lack of separation they create. The guys just can't get open.

Go to a 5 wide with Brown, Benjamin, Olsen, Hill and Ginn. Fly Hill and Ginn watch the others work across the middle

We need a guy who can consistently get separation like Crabtree or Stevie Johnson. I would like Andre, Nicks, Moore or Britt as well as guys with #2 potential and not going to command a lot of money. We have 0 YAC guys as well, so yes we DEFINITELY need an upgrade at #2 WR. More likely to come in draft than FA in my opinion but if we could get 1 of those guys I listed, I'd be satisfied.
