snow or rain wont help our passing game either. So they can stack 8 in the box on us easily, but i hope Jake plays like he did vs Denver and not det/oak game.

I think the passing game is much more important to the Giants. Sure we would have less effective passing. However, the Giants have big play ability that has burned our secondary for the past 4 games. I have much more confidence in our run defense than our pass defense.

hmmmm i would say our passing game is more important for 1 reason: the real steve smith needs the ball. if its a crap shoot throwing it takes out our best threat, and lets a good giants team focus on stopping 1 element, the run, and who really trust their cbs? i mean i dont always trust lucus, marshall, and gamble, but i would take them over corey webster, sam madison, and aaron ross. plus i like our WRs more when they dont have plex.

Really?

I feel just the opposite. The Giants are second in the league in rushing, but only about 20 or so passing the ball. I definitely prefer them trying to beat us with Manning's arm than with Jacobs. And their best receiver shot himself.

Our run defense has been in the bottom half of the league all year, where as our pass defense has only looked bad in the last few games (And actually, it looked pretty good against Denver). And if Kemo does miss the game due to injury, its going to be that much harder to stop their running game.

I agree that the pass defense looked much better against Denver. They really seemed to come together. I think that we have the best chance with a balanced attack against the Giants. I am just concerned with our secondary getting blasted. IMO I think we would be better stopping their running game than their passing game. However, without Plax they looked pretty flat against the cowgirls. If they play us like that its game for us.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
