Cam needs to step up this year

So wait, Eli has two "lucky superbowl wins", but you rank Russell Wilson 4th out of all QB's for being the winning QB in one of the most lopsided Super Bowl's in history? Which by the way was also one of the most dominant defensive efforts by a Super Bowl team in the Seahawks. Seattle may as well have been playing a high school team out there, that is how putrid Denver was. They didn't even score a touchdown until the 4th fugging quarter.

But you're gonna poo on Eli? Ok....

Eli is a turnover machine. Wilson is not.

I am gonna poo on any turnover machine.

SB is not a good indicator by itself, but one needs to acknowledge a QB that is able to step up in the biggest of moments and lead his team to a win. (assuming they played good in the SB win)

Go watch the 06 and 07 AFC playoffs.

06 the Chargers had the game iced over the Brady led Pats, one of our very own completely messed up a walk off victory.

07 Chargers outplayed Manning at home to advance.

The AFC was freaking tough to get through back then, now, not as much.

But we didnt do that did we?

cant put the worms back in the can after its been opened.

there is another thread that did it but w/ only 2 QB's. Yes we can still compare by stats and wins and PO wins and SB's without naming names.who says you cant put worms back in a can? I just have never actually seen a can of worms but physics say yes you can put them back in.

Maybe.

But Eli actually makes throw down field, with out gimmicks (ala Wilson).

Plus, the Seattle defense scored more points than the Seattle offense in that Superbowl. And they scored them all (the defense) before the offense scored their first point.

So what in the hell, did Wilson actually do during that Superbowl, when Eli at least played great?

Double standards (and still looking for attention) I see?

I rarely use SB's as a way to judge a QB, but to each his own.

Rivers is a top 5 QB in the league, he just is on a bottom tier team.  Look at the completion %, TD to INT ratio, yards per game as a starter, etc....

He will likely go down as a Marino type player.

If you want to talk all time rankings, sure.

Yeah I get your Marino reference, but even as good as Dan was, ultimately it all boils down to winning a championship. That's THE goal.

But if we are talking current QB's, I would have to disagree. Rivers has a decent squad around him right now. At one point last season he was talked about as possibly being the MVP, and then he had that awful game against the Dolphins, and things just went to poo from there. Not all his fault though.

Now in terms of career, Rivers had arguably one of the most dominant running backs of all time in his prime in Ladanian Tomlinson.

He hasn't exactly been playing with scrubs all these years.

No maybe about it. Eli is without question a turnover machine.

Wilson is in no way shape or form a turnover machine.

Wilson is smart and delivers when he is needed to.

Wilson does receive a little unwarranted hate here, most of it is just jealousy. I think he's good though.

I just wouldn't rank Wilson quite that high, and I certainly wouldn't try to drag Eli Manning through the mud to make Wilson look better. Because as much crap as Eli has gotten throughout his career, he played his ass off to win those two Super Bowls. I'm not even going to bother debating that.

SB's have to be factored in "somewhat".

Rivers is a damn good QB.

Physics never were good with a turn of phrase or being arbitrary.  Physics says no two different things can be the same thing at the same time in the same space.  Language, however, laughs at that and uses the same words and gives multiple meanings and uses.  Hence by saying worms cant go back in to the can, a metaphor has just been used to illustrate that once a thing has been said, it can not be unsaid.(in this particular context of course)

Grammatically correct.

Wow the amount of stupidity on this thread is ridiculous. Cams rookie year was great no further words needed. His second year the whole league was on notice and stopped all of that read option stuff that chud for some reason kept calling. Year three he was much more technically sound along with excellent defensive play catapulted us into the top four teams in the league. P.s. I really wish the refs would have let us play the 49ers fair I just feel the nfl didn't wanna see the 13-10 nfc championship that would've occurred had we played Seattle. 2014 he has ankle surgery losses his best lineman and three of his receivers as well as the elite defense we had and we still only lost to the nfc should be nfl champions. Btw that ankle surgery was very underrated the surgery called for at least 12 months to be totally pain free . In other words he was never mentally healthy until the latter part of last year honestly I say around week 12. I was just watching his highlight from 2014 and most of the highlights that were on there were from the Arizona and Seattle playoff games and against our two division foes we blew out. But honestly guys in 2013 cam was a top ten qb easily I'm really looking forward to next year being nothing but magical.

Rivers had "prime" LT for 2 years, and if I remember correctly, both times he limped into the playoffs.

He does have a "decent" squad around him, but what about keeping some talent, rather than letting it walk out the door?  VJ, Sproles, Tolbert, etc,?

No, Rivers isn't playing with scrubs, but not many QB's are.  I can tell you this, I wouldn't trade our skill position guys for any of theirs right now.

As to the Championship thing, it just doesn't mean as much to me when talking about how great a player is/was, same for all players.  Not going to slam Manning 1 for only winning 1, same with Favre, not slamming Jim Kelly, or Dan Marino either.

I just don't think Eli or Ben are better than Rivers because they have rings....they also play for 2 of the most well run teams in all of sports, same with Flacco.

Eli did more for the Giants during those super bowl years (much more I may add) than Wilson did during his. It's not even close.

We can argue, that Eli is asked to do much more, and how the team and players around him sucked the past few years, etc.. However, Wilson's in the perfect system for him. So he won't turn the ball over as much. Two totally different situations. But if you're asking me, who was the better QB during their Superbowl runs, it was easily Eli.

No contest.

either way the use of A and B etc is still available which was the pt. So yes, metaphorically speaking, we can put the worms back into the can.
