Vick to be reinstated for week one?

To all who keep saying the Cats couldn't handle Vick his whole career, kindly look at the gamelogs for his last 4 games against Carolina and think again. He wasn't much of a factor against them after 2004.

No. He was not. Stop confusing the NFL with prison. As I have said, When you get in trouble at school you still have your parents to deal with. Same concept here.

Even if he had not gone to jail for those 2 years, he would have served a very hefty suspension. I think that Goodells track record speaks for that. All im saying is that hes already had his life supremely fuged up.....pretty much more so than any other NFL player that I can ever think of that had committed a crime. Im not defending him, nor condoning his actions, but enough is enough and everyone, including Vick, needs to move on. What good is a few more games going to do? Is it going to make Vick learn his lesson anymore? The only reason a further suspension would be enforced is to appease the fans.....and that is not the purpose of a suspension in the first place.

I hate to say it, but I am actually kind of rooting for him as well. He seems like he has genuinely changed. I say this as I am petting my 2 year old Boxer, so I am definitely a dog lover as well. The man needs to move on with his life, and so should we all.

you people are ridiculous. If Jake Killed the dog would you care NOOOOO you wouldnt but jus because Vick did it he's a bad person now. Ok he killed some dogs... WHO CARES!!! he didnt kill a person did he NO...So you people need to get off his case Gordell is already rascist as it is You got Rotthlisberger raping people and he gets off fine...If Vick was white 85% of you guys wouldnt care but since he's BLACK its a big deal. I hope he gets to play against carolina and hope he Does great so you people can talk about something else then him killing dogs

Don't play the race card on this....it is total BS. His race has nothing to do with what he did and the fact that he is a POS as a person.

I think he's a POS too and I've lost a lot of respect for Tony Dungy as well. But the fact is he paid his debt to society. Whether he gets reinstated week 1 or week 6 I don't care. He was over-rated and on his way down two years ago, now it's time to kick his ass.

plus, karma is a bitch dude, stop with the injury talk.

In this case this is a HUGE misnomer.

He went to prison for HIS CRIME. NOW he is paying his debt to SOCIETY by being a good citizen, owning up not just to his crimes/mistakes but doing a 180 and going the other direction while IN society.

The prison time is per the laws of the States. Is society in jail? No.

Sure he has lost a great deal in contract money and endorsements but that was his own doing.

I hope he bounces back and does well except when he plays a certain team.

Of course killing a dog is not like killing a person. That being said, there are many dog lovers out there -- myself included -- who think what Vick did was reprehensible and disgusting. What kind of message would you be sending to the youth of America if a dog killer didn't receive any kind punishment?

I love dogs. I've had them my whole life. My dogs live inside the house, with me. I have a Great Dane, I have a Beagle (big, small, doesn't matter).

I don't like dogfighting - or fighting any animals for that matter. I was surprised and disgusted when what was going on surfaced.

However, I don't think Vick deserved the amount of time he got. We love to hate celebrities, and that's exactly what happened. I also don't hold anything against him, and I'd like to see him continue his career in the NFL, preferably without injury.

He is now permanently tagged for what happened (by society); I think that's punishment enough. The amount of dislike and just plain hate against Vick is ridiculous.

Those of you wishing harm on him are misguided (obviously, in my opinion). He might not be a Saint (lol), but he has served his debt to society in legal form. He will forever pay for his actions due to the scrutiny of society in general. As for any religious redemption, that is his own business. There is no need for you to try to throw in your own punishment; it is not your place, duty, nor right.

However, it is obvious that you have the freedom to think and say what you want. So, continue spewing the hate; it's only hurting you.

Dogfighting is a Federal crime in all 50 states.

Totally incorrect.

First off a federal crime implies all 50 states.

Second off, dog fighting is a felony in many states but there is no federal statute for dog fighting. Transporting dogs over the state line for commerce and illegal gambling is a federal crime.

He deserves what he got. Thats the law, he didn't get out any earlier or later. Im in favor with whatever the court rules as long as he doesnt get special treatment due to his celebrity stauts. If courts ruled he had to serve 10 years in jail, id be fine with that to. He did the time they made him do and he's out now. Until he shows some sign that hes not truly sorry, the best we can do is believe him and move on. Dog fighting happend before mike vick and will happen again after

what is hilarious is people crying about what is fair or not. DONT COMMIT A CRIME.

It's that simple.

(dumb guy voice) but i didn't know what the law was in X state.

Too freaking bad. You avoid the extremes of unfairness when you AVOID crimes.

And the word karma has been tossed around a bit. Wel...there ya go...karma

Its not about second chances.. This is a character issue.

Anyone who killed and brutalized dogs for more than six years did not just make a “mistake”. That’s the kind of person he is plain and simple.

So now he wants to start making the millions again and is saying and doing everything he can to get back in. He is not nor has he ever been sorry for what he did. He is just sorry he was caught.

I can just hear him say…. “Oh.. yeah. drowning. electrocuting , shooting and beating dogs is wrong….what was I thinking?… hmm…. I’m sorry. Can I play football again…”

BS..

You know he only served for gambling right? None for the dog fighting, what he did to them?

I hope Chris Harris delivers the career ending hit, walks on all fours like a dog, gets up and starts barking. It'll be like a tribute to all the dogs he tortured and killed.

I'm more alarmed by the fact that you're specifically saying that Chris Harris would be the type of person to purposely lay a hit on someone to end their career and then mock them afterwards. After all this talk about no class against Falcons fans and Cowboys Fans, you're really not making us look any good.

Besides, in the ONE time we've seen Vick in the preseason, it doesn't look like he's got his quickness back nor his ability to just take off. It'll take him a while to get back into football shape. I'm not worried.
