My point being most felons are placed on parole and forced to work at dead end jobs. That conviction follows them for life no matter what they may do in the future. Playing sports at any level is a privilege reserved to a select few. Having athletic ability doesnt put you above the law by any means. We are sending a bad message to our youth to continue to allow athletes to slide by.(It happens in High School all the time) If Vick turns his life around, I'll be the first guy to acknowledge it. Until then he's just another guy who blew his shot. You know the saying "if you want respect you have to earn it".

I understand and basically agree with everything you just said. But again, Vick was with that construction company for those 2 months when Dungy started talking to Owners, seeing if anyones interested. Can't blame Vick to much for accepting a million dollar contract this year and multi-million next year as long as he fills his obligations. Only thing I can say to defend him (not that I want to) is that Vick runs with a ball for a living. He doesn't control anyones money at a bank. His intelligence isnt being questioned as he runs a fortune 500 company, hes not in charge of your wive's/husbands/whtever surgery. He just plays football. His crimes were wrong and Ill never fully forgive him no matter how many charities he helps but at the end of the day, what does he do good for society? just entertains us for 3 hours (or 3 plays if hes a back up) on sundays.

I understand about accepting the contract, he would be a fool otherwise. I'm saying that opportunity shouldnt have been available, right away anyway. Let him earn it not by just doing jail time, that was the punishment for his criminal activity. He also violated the league conduct code, for which I'm sure he will be punished accordingly. Dont get me wrong, hooking up with Dungy as a mentor was a good first step. I hope he turns his life around and becomes a solid role model. Good luck to him, hope to see him again. Next Year!

Well since Vick and Goodell met today I am sure we will find out when he will be back sooner than later. Saturday afternoon at the latest.

I like Goodell but wish he was a lil more harsh with his penalties. If he does decide to let him play week 1, then what did he wait all preseason for? "Oh good job, you havent killed anything since being released from prison 4 months ago, of course you can play...."

Guess I just don't understand what he did to EARN his trust back from Goodell, but good for Vick. Hope hes truly sorry

From the "what it's worth" dept. I couldn't stand the sob when he played @ Tech. and I couldn't stand the sob when he played in atl. I thought he got what he deserved for what he did. For those of you who said he lost to much $$$$, I've heard before that the best celebrity you can get to endorse your product is a dead one.....I'll leave up to you to figure out why.

Not to be rascist but this has something to do with his skin. Hayden and madhater im guessing yall are white so you wouldnt understand. He only killed 3 or 4 dogs. Did he rape anybody NO did he snort cocaine up his nose NO. A Two year Suspension Is enough but Gordell wants to punish him some more. For what??? For no reason jus because he's black what happend to matt jones he only misses a couple games and is back on the field. Ben rothlisberger was accused of raping someone but is living his life fine. GORDELL IS RASCIST point blank. If you were black you would understand but your not so you think it has nothing to do with his skin color when it really does

How does it have to do with his skin color and not the fact he committed a felon?
