How long will it be....

Recommended Posts

So considering how the Panthers have been written off by nearly every major sports writer on the planet in this game and how the buccaneers under Garcia are the second coming of christ (after the 1 1/2th coming in Drew Brees dried up), how long will it be after the game that someone uses the phrase "This game wasn't won by Carolina, this game was lost by Tampa Bay through a lot of mistakes." Cause God knows, if Tampa wins it's because they're good. If Carolina wins, it'll be because Tampa was having a bad day. At least, if you listen to anyone on tv, that's how it's gonna seem.

If we win, they just might crown us the ugliest 10-3 team ever. The Bucs, who have won all of their games in blowouts, never got down early to bad teams, and don't share a common problem with us, are completely different. They're going to be denying us until the very end because we were supposed to win 6-8 games at most.

This is untrue. We got down to bad & good teams on the road. This has been our problem all year.

True story ---------> On NFLN tonight, Terrell Davis (who I really dislike, even as a rb) was doubting that Carolina should be right behind the Giants in the NFC despite being 10-3 and with last night's game. He started saying that there are better teams out there, like the Eagles and the Cowboys and ....... Tampa. Jim Mora interrupted him and asked if Terrell had watched the same game last night that he had, "Are you kidding me?". TD did his little most annoying, "Well yeah", but he wasn't giving in. Said to ask him after the Giants game if the Panthers are a good team. :prrr: Asked Mora if he wanted to crown the Panthers right now and Mora said no but you can't say they aren't a good team.

We are going to hear this kind of b u l l s h i t discussion for the rest of the season.

    • Torn achilles.  The reason he was out more than half of last season.
    • When the panthers are bad, we sell a shockingly low number of jerseys, and options become limited. In the good years, we had a lot of different options. I think T-Mac is going to have to play well on the field for his jersey to get produced in the FUSE template.
    • it's not the only way to be a threat, it's certainly important for certain roles in an offense and for certain type players and offenses.  as is the ability to get open quickly and generate easy throws.   as far as Renfrow goes, I have consistently said he is sort of his own thing and not really in comp w/ others here.  It's a niche role/job.  Anyone talking about something else from him isn't me.  Just depends if we want to do what he does and if he can still do it.  as far as AT goes, yeah, he does lower our ceiling given the % of our offense that goes through him and his limitations at this stage in his career.    He should be a roleplayer, much like Renfrow should be if we want to insert what he does into the O....not an O being run through him.    Renfrow isn't going to lower the ceiling if used correctly.  Niche assignments to move chains.   It's like a short yardage RB that comes in to pick a random play.  Renfrow is best at that 3rd and 4 type scenario IMO. AT lowers the ceiling because we build the pass game off an old WR that shouldn't be the focal point of a pass attack.  Not to mention, Bryce Young is practically tailor made to get the ball in the hands of YAC players.   So you need those type on the field.
