Cam Newton is the most popular player in Hawaii

Cool. I find that hard to believe though. I rarely see any Panthers fans here on Oahu. I think I've seen like 2 people with a Cam jersey compared to the hundreds I've seen with Kaepernick or Wilson jerseys.

Mariota jerseys are selling like hotcakes here. Many of the stores are sold-out and backordered as soon as the shipments come in.

You're probably seeing tourists who didn't BUY their sports jerseys in Hawaii.  Would make sense to see lots of 49ers and Seahawks jerseys in a vacation destination that's closer to the West Coast.

Still no idea why Cam is #1 though.

I've lived here all my life and have been a Panther fan since the beginning and have only met like 8 people who we're legit Panthers fans. Most were military from NC.

I frequent a lot of sports bars and the only time I've ever seen fans was the Patriots MNF game and Buc MNF game years ago.

 

We might be considering each other in our numbers, heh. I'm one of the mil from NC you described. I usually went to Kemoo's outside of Schofield on Sundays but went downtown a few times.

After doing lil research, I believe these numbers are based of Dick's Sporting Goods sales. Hawaii doesn't have a Dick's SG location. These numbers would have to be based off Online Sales then. Since other NFL team gear is readily available at the many stores here, and Panthers gear is hard to come by, it would make sense that people order Cam jersey's (Panthers gear) online, rather than other teams.

I order all my gear online, but not from Dick's, because few retail shops carry anything Panthers related. 

Anywho, I'm stoked that "Hawaii" loves Cam, but these fans gotta come out of the woodwork!
