I know there is already a thread about this but I want to know how many are for Smitty returning punts and who thinks him returning punts is stupid!I personnaly think it's a very dumb idea,he is too valuable to the team to get injured by a bunch of backup LBs running kamikazi down the field and trying to prove they can F#ck Steve Smith up!I cringed when they used him 3 or 4 years ago returning punts, also if Smitty gets hurt you can forget the Panthers going to the playoffs-he's that important folks!

Do you really think we are that bad off at PR? We have a ton of options on this roster (Goodson, Moore, and Capt- My Pick) why expose the best WR in the League (as well as our one and only true receiving weapon) to obvious risk of injury. These rumors were started by the FO and Coaches to put in the back of other teams minds. This WILL NOT happen.

I think this poll is more about whether he should, not whether he will.

I the fumbles continue I'm all for it.

And I explained why it shouldn't even be discussed. If fumbles persist you sign the best PR that is available. You don't intentionally expose the teams best player to unneeded injury risk.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
