No Huddle

Now, I know it was at the end of the half and only for one drive, but Jake's limited success came while running a high tempo offense. It is becoming slightly more popular in the NFL. That being said, do you guys think a no huddle offense might work in Carolina?

No huddle would be an excellent option. At this point, any of Davidson's playcalls would be quite obvious based on the formation we line up in. We are not a complex offense but if we ran hurry up more often during the games it would slow down the blitz and give our guys a chance to call their own plays which can more times than not be better than anything Davidson draws up.

Too bad our defense would probably screw us in the long run if we did this consistently.

i'm hearing it called "sugar huddle" and "huddle at the line" a lot on sirius. more like what Peyton Manning does. giving the D a good look, and making adjustments based on what is being shown. i say give it a shot. points earned quick are the same as points earned slow in the end.

I wonder how much time NO ate up yesterday on their long the longest drive.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
