Can we get Favre next year?

No really I'm serious. Can we?

I mean I would rather have whatever new QB we bring in train under Favre than Delhomme. Favre could play next year with JD as his back-up then in 2011 when we will actually be able to draft a decent QB, have him work under Favre.

And next year might actually be Favre's true last year. I wouldn;t mind him being a cat for his last year.

I mean this man has like a gazillion years worth of football experience he could pass down. He could then retire as our QB coach.

Favre does not mentor players, that was part of the reason he is not in Green Bay anymore. He is a egoistical SOB and all he would do is bring this team down even further, so no, do not want. We are probably going to have to tough it out with what we got or until we have a new coach. Unless we get real lucky next year and a good QB falls to us in the draft.

Not to sound stupid but, wouldn't that be like keeping Jake at this point? Gunslinger, can't run. Lots of INT's. I mean he had 22 last season and had issues with his arm. not to mention, who knows... he might retire and be off the market next year. :P

I am pretty sure Favre has put up a lot better numbers the past couple of years than Jake. But I am thinking more in terms of training. And you can be sure of one thing. Fox won;t be able to contain him and keep him from throwing the ball which is kind of what we need right now as a team. At least ONE guy who is pro-pass.

And yea he is egotistical now...but eventually once he really retires and can't play he will be a pool of experience for any rookie QB.

And u guys need to forget us drafting a QB next year. Our first round draft pick is gone if I am not mistaking and drafting a QB in the second round probably won;t produce any better results than the two back ups we have now.

2011 will be the first legitimate shot we'll have at drafting a QB. So we will have to endure one more year of crappy QBs. I would just rather have Favre than Jake next year. But that's just me. Oth if Jake does play and we go 2-14....we may get the first pick in 2011. That could work out well too.

    • I’m really having a hard time understanding how this actually went down. -Renfrow expected to make roster as 2nd/3rd string. -Panthers cut Renfrow; Keep Brycen Tremayne, and add UDFA receiver (Dalevon Campbell) to active roster.  -Canales/Morgan say it’s totally up to Hunter whether he wants to come back or not, they would love to have him.    -Renfrow not signed to PS -Panthers trade Adam Thielen -Hunter Renfrow signed to active roster with a raise after an injury to Coker nobody heard about and is likely to start.    Our WR room is now: -Xavier Legette (2024 1st round pick) -Tet McMillan (2025 1st round pick) -Hunter Renfrow (1 year out of the league) -David Moore (Canales’ friend? A guy way past his prime) -Jimmy Horn (Likely a Shi Smith reprint, but has potential 2025 6th round pick, weighs 174 lbs) -Brycen Tremayne (2023 UDFA who was on Washington’s PS for 2 years and caught 1 pass for -2 yards and averaged 300 yards per year at Stanford) -Dalevon Campbell (2025 UDFA had a good preseason but had 1463 yards and 3 TDs over 5 college seasons at 3 different schools). What the hell is going on?
    • Not uncommon for week 1 games. Especially against good defenses. It’s why I prefer my team play these small schools week 1 if they are going to play them. Gives the offense time to get calibrated.
