I do think making 15% of the lister and then 25% of that buyer is a bit excessive don't you?  Say you want 150 bucks off you're crappy upper level ticket. Then ticketmaster ups it to. 172.50. Then the buyer end up paying 215.00. Sure they need to make money and I'm sure lots of other entities get a cut but isn't 65.00 bucks off a ticket a little excessive?

Solution is simple though, don't buy from them. There are plenty of trustworthy people selling on craigslist. Just don't be an idiot when doing business there and you won't get scammed.

Supply and demand....market pricing.

if fees were too high, people would not buy.  Basic economics.

And what you are getting for those fees is a guarantee that the tickets are legit....or your money back.

Yeah i understand and if you're a gullible person that 65 bucks a ticket is well worth it. Just saying craigslist can be used effectively if you aren't an idiot.  I've been buying tickets that way for a long time and have never had an issue. It is much harder to navigate then it use to be though. I'll have to talk to probably 15 sellers now before I find a legit one.  The good thing now is you are able to transfer tickets via email. There is almost no situation where they shouldn't be able to do that now if the tickets are legit,  unless it's a scalper that has a ton of tickets. I'm not interested in purchasing from them anyway.

Yeah I got a little sticker shock yesterday with the ticket exchange fee. They should be required by law to post that charge prominently on the site or actually add it to the ticket price posted. They count on emotion to make inexperienced people spend a little more than they planned to. Anyone know what the charge is to buyers on the other sites and if the total price is listed.

A $100 ticket on ticket exchange cost the buyer $125.

What about Stubhub and others? Is list price what you pay?

Educate me please.

I bought tickets about 3 weeks ago for $250 a piece. I had no idea tickets were gonna drop the way they did. Luckily stub hub accidentally sent me the wrong seats and couldn't deny me a refund so I got my money back and bought cheaper seats last night. Face value for the seats I originally bought was $62.00.

I bought 250 dollar tickets on stub hub about 3 weeks ago. $45 service fee per ticket. Instead of $500 for 2 tickets I paid $590 with service fees. The more expensive the ticket, the more expensive the service fee. Luckily I got out of those tickets

No...list price us not what you pay on any of the sites.  They all charge fees for their service.

I do agree that the fees should be posted.

The thing I don't like is they all share tickets. I don't think the fee used to be so bad but they are basically one big company now. You can look on fifteen different sites and they all have the same seats. So each and every company gets a piece off every seat.

Or I guess at least two do. The one the tickets were listed one and the one it was sold on

Not true. They are NOT the same company.

Only the site that sells the ticket gets the fee.

People post their tickets on multiple sites to increase the traffic and improve the odds of selling their tickets.

I think the sites are doing the posting. Because the ticket will be on ten different sites and varying in cost by about ten bucks. And that's true for every ticket. You think every person listing their tickets are wasting time doing that?

One site cannot post a ticket for sale on a different site, as they are not the owner of the ticket.

Would not be a Huddle thread without a crazy conspiracy theory.
