A Great Positive to Take Away

We got a lot of pressure on Wilson today.  In fact, we were able to get pressure on him for the most part of the game.  If this wasn't Russell Wilson, let's say if this was Carson Palmer, the opposition wouldn't have scored as many points.  Shoot at one point Jared Allen had Wilson dead to rights, but Wilson got away from him just enough to throw one into the endzone.  Next week if we can get that same pressure on Palmer, there's no way he will be able to convert anything much less touchdowns.  Look at what Seattle did to the Cards the last week of the season.

Even with the let down of the second half, I'm confident we will beat the Cards down, in spite of our secondary woes.

He moves around in the pocket to extend plays but Russell's quickness is what seperates him.

He had a great play in extending time to find Fitz in overtime.  Yet with the kind of pressure we applied on Wilson, I doubt Palmer will be able to escape.

We had penetration on Wilson when we tried. We played a lot more contain on him on the second half and that's how he started to pick up yards and make plays happen. You gotta hit him in the mouth before he realizes he should be running. I hope our DE rotation is a bit better next week to keep our guys fresh. Palmer isn't as big of a threat to run as Wilson but he's got plenty of targets and knows how to get the ball out quick. We can't be doing this 10 yards off poo like we did with Wilson. Disrupting timing on routes and stopping the run will be a huge focus. fug Russell Wilson.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
