There's some truth to this, but the actual production isn't that different. Shockey and Olsen combined for just under 1,000 yards and 9 TDs, and Olsen has been doing that on his own these days.

Its the threat of run/pass that hesistates defense and allows the offense to be the aggressor.  If we can develop Scotty ino a  2nd TE that can block decently and holds up on his recieving end this offense can finish off games  & give the defense a boost of energy.

You can also play action with the spread offense as well. Spread teams out, and thin out the box. Lots of teams are going to that. Maybe we should go that route?

The trouble with finding that second TE that can both block, and catch, is, there aren't enough of them to go around. There are teams out there that don't have one complete TE, us included. Sometimes you just have to play with what you have.

Until Simonson learns to block better, Dickson will continue to see the majority of the snaps.

Spreading the ball can work especially with Philly & Ginn speed  but our OTs are pretty bad so depends on how much of seperation our WO' gets.  Far as Simonson goes he can't get better unless he gets real game experience and builds chemistry with the OL & Cam. Carolinas offensive foundaiton is to run the ball & controling the clock, if the foundation is weak then the other facets of offense can't work.

There was a good video clip about Seattle on NFL.com about how Seattle lost its mystique and it was due to trading the Center and moving away from Marshawn Lynch aka being a physical run 1st team.

On another note i wish we could have drafted Hunter Henry over Vernon Butler he seems to be coming along in both passing and catching situation but its 2 late for that train maybe invest in that postion next year.

Numbers get skewed though.  While Shula uses TEs to aid in max protect....Olsen also has played the role of the central figure on pass downs (which Chud didn't do)

Chud used the TEs more consistent IMO as threats.  Shula goes more extreme in both directions

We only did 2 TE sets for the 1st game of the preseason and it hasn't been seen since. If it makes too much sense, Shula will do the opposite.

Last week Olsen played 100% of the snaps and Dixon 31%. That means we were using 2 TE sets  almost a 3rd of the game
