Turnovers

I keep on hearing this argument that those OT's got us 15-1 season but really it was defensive turnovers and short field that covered up a lot of Offensive issues last year. As a Panthers fan if you want to be regular season winner its okay to keep them but if you ever want to get a ring we must invest in the OL with top talent like Dallas.

2013 - Loss to SF due to OL

2014- Loss to Seahawks due to OTs

2015- Loss to Denver due to OT's

2016- etc etc.

Besides SF in 2013, all of those teams have worse Offensive lines than us, yet all manage to win.  It's more important to use the pieces you have wisely than it is to put blame on players not performing well in situations they don't do well in.  Jerry Rice is one of the best players the NFL has ever seen, but if you line him up at nose tackle, then he's gonna be pretty shitty, so asking average to below tackles to pass block for 7 step drops is asking for horrendous results.  What we could do is run between the tackles and let our young tandem of run blocking guards do their job well.

But all of them had better defense than us and guess what Von Miller , Beasley and top rushers aren't going anywhere so if panthers want to win a SB there gonna face elite pass rushers in playoffs

Gameplan with them in mind.  Take pressure off the line by doing quick passes to get the ball out of Cam's hand quicker.  We've got two 6'5 receivers running fly routes...how does that make sense.  It's time to start using those weapons in the short to intermediate game like we should.  That IS what those teams have done to nullify pass rushes against us.  Again, Denver has crappy Tackles, but the scheme helps hide this.  Face it, NO TEAM is gonna have all-pros at every position because of how the salary cap is, so you have to figure out how you want to balance your team.  When you find that balance, you know where your weaknesses are and where your strengths are and you scheme accordingly, problem is we don't seem to be scheming accordingly.

On defense, that's the problem, our scheme calls for either a good pass rush or good corner play, but right now we have neither which makes me far more worried because that's not something you can just scheme around.

We aren't picking in the top 10 like Dallas was to find our left tackle either.  We have the center and two guards.  We tried for a right tackle last year who we can say at best is developing slowly right now (and maybe at worst is right guard depth).  In the mean time, one thing that can make those average at best tackles look better is running the ball which has been non-existent in the last 2 loses.

Did you just site the Dallas Cowboys as the blueprint as for correlation between O-Line play and success?

No I said invest in the draft like Dallas did , BTW panthers have better core players that would allow thems to win aka Cam & Luke . We don't need to draft all OL just need a good Tackle even if we have to trade up.
