I have been secretly working on the side since October so that I can save enough extra money by the end of 2017 to surprise my family with their dream vacation to Disney that my wife never believed we could ever afford. I've saved about $1600 of about $9000 that I need. It will take working on the side basically every day of 2017.

Out of curiosity jase. What's the biggest slice of the 9k for man?

I'm up to 220lbs and I'd like to get to 200lbs.  I'm not fat...  I just got big for some reason.  My shoulders got wider which is weird.  I will do P90X starting sometime this month.

Ive been a steady 170 my whole life and up to 215 since i started a new career behind a desk in 2010. Time to reverse 7 years of sitting on my ass.

I park 1 mile away from my job on 5th floor so I get my daily walk.  I have an option to go thru the buildings in case of bad weather. I also play soccer.  I'm in a good physical form but still gained weight.

Biggest chunk is staying at the Polynesian resort which is something my wife has always wanted to do. Ride the monorail in and out as we please.

also looking at 7-10 days depending on how good of a price I can get on airfare.

Not super appropriate thread and maybe I'm bragging (i'm certainly proud of it) but whatever. I realized this morning I've been working out 5-7 times a week for the last 6 years. I started this time of the year in 2011. I was 5"9 122ish when I started, no muscle, just a skinny weak girl. I've gained 20 lbs since then but my clothes still fit (except some shirts in the arm area.)

To those of you who are starting new year resolutions the biggest things that help me make fitness a life style are:

Routine- I work out around the same time each day on the weekdays and about the same time each day on the weekends.

Prioritize- work out time ranks high on my list of priorities. If someone wants or needs something and it conflicts with work out time, typically it's too bad for them (child and emergencies are the only real exceptions). If I know I have plans on Thursday night to go somewhere fun like a Hornets game, then that is my rest day and I make sure I work out everyday leading up to it.

We drove and stayed at the Hilton saving a poo ton of money. But hey it's a dream vacation, do what floats your boat and have a blast!

How do you like being 140ish compared to being 120s?

I'm great with it. It's just a number. My clothes from when I was in the 120s still fit with a few exceptions. Some pants and shirts are tight on my calves/biceps/shoulder but I love being strong and cut. I NEVER thought I'd be in the 140s certainly never thought I'd be OK with it.

As long as you're ok with it that's all that matters. I always wondered if women preferred to be petite compared to being really in shape.

But at your height, 140 seems more appropriate and healthier.

Yeah, I was technically underweight at 122 lb. or my height. My doctor has said he's happy I'm weighing in more. I think it's all preference. I'm sure some girls wouldn't like an athletic body type but I do.

I was supposed to take the LSAT last December, but i pushed it to February...then it dawned upon me in order to pay for Law School, I need to make more money. So I am pushing LSAT to later this year and law school to next year so I can start in real estate investment.

I started mid December giving up all refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup. I have to admit, the withdrawals were some of the worst things I have ever experienced in my life. Quitting smoking was easier than peeling myself away from that crap. I was curled up in bed for 3 days from the migraines. After a week, I had no desire for sugar at all. I've switched to stevia for what little sweetness I need now. 3 weeks and I'm down 20 lbs from nothing but that. Ive noticed also myenergy levels have stayed more even throughout the day. Good times.

I'm trying to do the same and with Caffeine. They are absolutely the worst withdrawal pains ever.

I've been drinking coffee everyday for the past 7 years so I've decided it's time for caffeine and sugar to go. I'm slowly phasing out coffee by going from Large with 4 cream and 4 sugar to medium and 2 cream and 2 sugar. I plan on drinking small coffee next week with 1 cream and 1 sugar and get down to extra small black coffee. Hopefully I can ween off caffeine and sugar by February.

    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
    • You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.
