Harry Giles (5*) + Bolden (5*) + Delaurier (4*) = 2-1 against UNC

Luke Maye = Not eliminated in the first weekend

You seem to have lost track of the big picture. Unless your goal is to win the season match-up with the Heels.

Nah its just pretty funny since it seems like the goal of most posters on here is to see Duke lose. Always fun to remind them that they've been dominated recently. Duke has two titles this decade. Cant win them all. Im actually hoping Carolina can make it to a final four since I like Roy and people give him way too much bull.

It's a goal of any team to see their rival lose. See: Falcons Super Bowl 51. Duke also has 6 first weekend exits in the last decade. Duke fans should be more concerned with that than posting records vs UNC.

But yeah....it's all in good fun.

Ill take 6 first round exits if it comes with winning 13 out of 18 games against your rival, no academic scandals, top tier recruits and 2 titles each decade lol

You would take a program as prestigious as Duke's with top tier recruits getting beat 60% of the time in the first weekend of the NCAA tournament by some no-name basketball program as long as they beat UNC? Yikes...

And hanging two banners in the process? Most definitely.  Sweet Sixteens and Elite eights are cool but in the grand scheme of things they're pretty useless. Only banners I really care about are national championships. So yea, since we've won more of those than any team in the last decade(and the modern era), can't seem to stop beating UNC and it's not hurting our recruiting whatsoever(as evidenced by the #1-2 recruiting classes year after year) then Ill take a few upsets to continue that success.

I'm fine with the Panthers losing in the wildcard round of the playoffs every year as long as we can beat the Saints twice!

Oh wait... no I'm not because that's dumb as hell.

Id be fine with the panthers losing the wildcard round of the playoffs if they won 2 Superbowls every 10 years lmao. You can't even tell me you wouldn't be.

There's no NFL equivalent to what duke has done in five of the last ten years. The quality of teams they're losing to wouldn't even be playoff teams in the NFL.

Doesn't matter who you lose to in March. They're all in the tournament for a reason. Besides that, numerous teams are under seeded simply because of what conference they play in. The team itself may do well in a stronger conference and thus earn a higher seed if they had the chance but because of where they play, come in ranked poorly. So again, if you could choose between the Panthers winning 2 SuperBowls every ten years and beating our rivals 72 percent of the time over that span at the cost of losing in the wildcard the 6 of those years, would you do it? I feel like 99% of fans would.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
