With the 4th pick in the 2010 nfl draft the panthers select....

What 1st round pick?

We dont have one....

I believe that's the point he's trying to make.

We traded that first to get Everette Brown, who has been a non-factor. I know defensive ends can take a while to really adjust to the game, and I don't fault Brown for that. He's got a great work ethic and I hope he'll develop into a star.

This front office, however, did us no favors in the draft. Irvin was injured, but he wasn't a good fit. Brown is situational at best and isn't a better pass rush specialist than Johnson (or perhaps even Taylor) at this point. Martin? Don't even get me started.

Oh, but we struck gold when we picked up Goodson, who will never see the field save for the occasional fair catch on kick returns.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
