this is your worst hot take in awhile. You're ok with kicking one of our franchise corner stones on and off the field to the curb for a rookie who's never played a down in the NFL.....oh yea and that guy just wants to be compensated like he should be.

Did I say that? It would help with contract negotiations and getting Olsen to camp, not cutting him. Breathe a little before posting.

But Howard hasn't proven anything either and the same could be said about him.

Apparently my point wasn't clear. I'm not suggesting something stupid like we should have drafted Howard and then cut Olsen. I'm only saying that, if we had O.J. Howard on the roster right now, it would have been a lot harder for Olsen to threaten to holdout.

*intentionally posts controversial statement*

*met with controversy*

*backtracks and tells other user to calm down*

Rinse and repeat as needed.

Luke is the best player on the team, and is one of the best MLB's to ever suit up....Cam isn't there yet, and neither is KK.

I think the best players on the team right now are 1:  Luke, then it gets a little murky with Olsen, Kalil, Cam, and KK.

Cam isn't fine tuned from a position stand point like Olsen.  Cam has holes in his game that Luke doesn't.

Big picture, I still think Cam is the most important player on the roster.   Partly because of his position and partly because despite being still a bit raw or inconsistent....Cam's ceiling to impact a game is just unique (historically unique maybe)

Cam is by far the most important player to this team's success, but I stand by the fact that he's not our "best" player.  If Luke has a bad game we can still win....Cam has a bad game, and it's awfully tough for us to get that W.

I'm trying to think of the QB's that are the best players on their teams.... Rodgers and Brady are the two that jump out at me....with possibly Brees being there as well.

I agree.  Wasn't really disagreeing with the other post but just wanted to add my Cam take.

In terms of best actual players (and not all positions impact the game the same)...based on recent seasons Thomas Davis remains forever underrated.  Past couple seasons, he is right behind Luke and the gap ain't that big despite the media/perception being so different IMO.

    • There was some pretty egregious missed calls vs the Chiefs in the Lions game, especially Kelce. The completion where he clearly used the ground to catch the ball. The hold in front of the ref as Pacheco ran by where the defender was trying to turn around and couldnt because Kelce had him by the jersey. Mahomes openly taunting after scoring a TD. 0 penalties after double digit the week before. Cmon.
    • People get trade happy and look at resources as barter items. They fail to see them as resources to be used to our benefit rather than someone else's. Right now, Chuba and Rico are massive benefits to us and a strong rushing attack so greatly benefits any passer, much less a young one like Bryce still is.  And the better our running game, the more our offense can eat up the clock, the less time our defense is on the field. And that is priceless, too. Don't mess with the running game. Don't mess with the receivers. Maybe look at our O-line and think we may have hit on something good during these injuries. Look at our D-line and seem some strength evolving there. Our secondary has its good spots and some that are still developing. Our linebacking corps did well this last outing. Our special teams are on a major upswing as of this past week. Heck, even our QB is showing us a little something right now that we can build on. Perhaps putting out a yard sale sign right now might be less advantageous than looking at the team and saying, "You are all part of something good that is happening. We want to see that continue to grow."
