Dont know what to say. That was not my impression. It felt very shady all around that stadium, but that was 10+ years ago.

May have felt that way, and I'm certainly not calling you a liar, just trying to educate. CBD is one of the safer areas around. It's a lot of traffic and working class. Having said that, a short trip to the other side of Claiborne turns into the hood pretty quick. Between I10 and the river on Poydras is a pretty safe area, for the most part.

Went last year, bought my daughter tickets for her 10 birthday because she's been begging to go to a game. Had a blast with the exception of a saints fan who started talking poo to my kids at halftime but the saints fans who were sitting behind us told my brother and I to step back and head to concessions while they got security to handle the asshole. Had a blast at the house of blues the night before even though I didn't drink a lot to make sure I was a reasonable parent. Riot throws the best parties.

Doubletree on Canal

Yeah, you're good. Easy shot to the Dome as well. Uber will suck trying to get to the Dome on a Sunday. Just walk down Poydras or pay a pedicab $20 to ride you down, because it will be hot as balls. Don't let them hustle you because you're a tourist though. It's a $20 trip from the river to the Dome lol.

Avoid Drago's right there by the hotel. It's a tourist trap. The food is meh and entirely too high.

DoubleTree is where I usually stay - or the Westin across the street. Mostly because I can hit Harrah's very easily and walk back to the room with all the cash I've just taken off of the cajuns without worrying.

Get a Ferdi Special from Mother's since you're right there. Best damn sandwich out there. (I get the Ralph which is the same but with cheese)

The worst part about NoLa is getting back to Canal or the Quarter after the game. You're not getting a cab or Uber and it's a solid 45 minutes.

Superdome security is awesome - zero lines. I've been the last three years and have just walked right in every time without any wait. That's what happens when you have more than three entrances (looking st your BoA).
