Total transaction??? 5 straight winning seasons and a  SB to tout, give me those transactions over 22 years without back to back winning seasons.

You do know the NFC west and South record is almost the same since 2012, and if you look at head to head they kick our asses

Yes.  Draft picks, signings, trades-theirs have been worse than all other teams since 2012.  Their drafts from 2010-2012 have made up for it.  I get that winning is the bottom line, but the medium/long term future there is much murkier than ours-more holes to fill and less draft capital to fill it.  Just saying.

The Graham trade itself cost Unger, who was replaced by Britt, whose ass KK kicked in our two wins over them that year.  Again just saying.

Between him, Frank IPunchWomen Clark, and Michael Bennett, the Seahawks have the defensive line I most want to run over with my car.

While I will in all likelihood be forced to root for them against the Falcons, it's truly mind numbing how they find ways to be more un-like-able.

I think Richardson is a baller. Maybe he blew up the Jets locker room because he wanted to be a winner, and they don't want to be bothered. (Hint- Cam has that fire, too)

But, at the end of the day, we had either Richardson or Star in that draft. Both teams wanted D linemen. I was sitting there, "OK, they gonna take Star, he's the better player, but Richardson is really good, we come out a winner either way" And they took Richardson. We got Star. And then we got KK, because our inferior GM knew what he was doing. If the Jets take Star, maybe he ain't that flashy, he doesn't generate all the hoopla, maybe they take a DL, Just in case. So they got Richardson, let's look for another player.

They took Geno Smith in the second round. They didn't need another D lineman. So they took another position, a QB. You go, girl.

Just for fun, let's look at the players between what the Jets coulda had (Kawaan) and what they took instead-

New York JetsGeno Smith QBWest Virginia

40San Francisco 49ersCornellius Carradine DEFlorida State

41Buffalo BillsRobert Woods WRUSC

42Oakland RaidersMenelik Watson OTFlorida State

43Tampa Bay BuccaneersJohnthan BanksCBMississippi State

44Carolina Panthers Kawann Short DT Purdue

(The only real thing that happened after that was Pittsburgh got Leveon Bell at 48, but that is the definition of "pure luck")

Anyway, alcohol makes me digress and ramble, but, in essence, Richardson is a good player, but we have plenty of those. Can't catch 'em all.

Not true, the Browns and jets beat them in every front. And you do remember they beat our ass last season?

Not so if you include this year's draft.  And yes, they did (with DA starting at QB throwing a pick on the 1st play, no Luke, Mario, and the faint playoff hopes crushed in Oakland the week prior).  But they are a flawed team.

Troubled or not, we need help pressuring the QB. Especially considering we still have uncertainty in our secondary.

We could barely stop Peyton Manning in SB50 who was a shell of himself by that point.

The Seahawks are going to be in the playoff mix, and they just got some big help.

Could barely stop him?

Denver had less yards than we had.

Both teams were complete trash on O.

Prediction:

Pep and KK will combine for more sacks than Richardson and Bennett.

Also..everyone upset about this trade will eat crow when Cam QB dives thru Richardson on the way to a 24-31 victory in the NFCC.

No one should be upset.  Kearse was Wilson's security blanket and answered too many of his prayers to count against us.  Good riddance.

One team got consistent pressure on the QB, the other didn't. Guess what happened?

I get you guys want to be optimistic because it's September, but take off the homer shades a bit. We absolutely could use another legit pass rusher if we want to make a deep playoff push.

I'm not arguing someone like Richardson is who we need, but I hope we're still exploring all options. Any Panthers fan worth their salt that's been around the block knows what it looks like when the Panthers defense makes a mediocre QB look elite because we can't pressure him and the guys in the secondary are getting torched. I would rather not have to witness that this season.

It's more the true, the sheer amount of bust those teams have drafted have no bar.

What are the excuses for our 2-4 record against them?

DeAngelo's fumble, some bad luck, injuries, Hardy's suspension, but moreso-the good job they did from 2010-2012.  We drafted Kealoha Pilares over Sherman.
