No, he wasn't.  It was virtually the same squad as 2015. Injuries killed us.

A whole new secondary is virtually the same squad??

Pass defense went from top 10 to bottom 5 and that wasn't the problem??

Omg..

I really don't want to burn bridges because I just joined here, but you are correct and this is not the sort of thing I really expected to see a lot of when I joined. Hell I have seen pretty much mostly negative talk about the team instead of positive talk. I understand that fans get frustrated over things and that is fine, but this is our team like it or leave it. Many of you may not like what I just said but it is the way I feel. I may not like every move the team makes, but in the end I am 100% behind them and always will be. So like me or not for speaking my opinion that is the way I feel as a fan of the team I love.

Some of these ppl should feel what it's like to be a Browns, Charger, or Jags fan..

This team in it's 1st 20 years has had more success than teams who have been around 50..

A bunch of ungrateful ppl..

Been saying this for months now. JR gives zero fugs about the fans or winning.  He's making an ass load of money and obviously wants a feel good franchise versus a winning one. If Hurney stays on as GM I suspect that a lot of fans will find something else to do on Sundays. I can't root for or pour energy into a team where the owner gives zero fugs about us fans. Gettleman may have had his faults, but he was building a team that could compete every year. Some of you may think this year we have a good shot at making a run, I'm not so convinced and 9-7 or 10-6 with a first round loss wouldn't surprise me at all. After all, Hurney doesn't exactly instill fear in the players to compete the way Getts did.......It wouldn't surprise me one bit to watch this year be an underperforming year.

I can guarantee you that Gettleman will fill one of the first 3 GM positions to open up. What team wouldn't want a GM that was able to take a team out of cap hell and take them to the Super Bowl in the process?

I got 50 dollars saying he won't get a GM job next year.. You down..

Face it, this franchise has been a pile of dung more often than not. Atleast Gettleman was handling things as a business. If this years Squad doesn't win it all there won't be another shot for it on this team for Cam or Luke. Hurney will wreck any future chance with idiotic saleries and moves.

Nah, I've just about stopped caring about the NFL all together. If we start heading down the same old road we have been on for over 20 years I will stop watching and spend my Sundays enjoying life. This $hit ain't fun any longer.

I am not going to come across saying I know JR personally, but I imagine the man was pretty damn successful and had a ton of money before he became the primary owner of the Panthers. So I really think he is doing this because this is something he enjoys not because he is making a load of money.

My other question to you is as a fan how much energy do you pour into this team? Seriously the way you are saying it in your post it sounds like it is a full time job or something. I know for me I keep up with the major moves and injuries and news and watch the games which I really can't even do now because I moved out of State. I have a full time career that I pour a lot of my energy into and the Panthers football team I choose to enjoy and not to take so seriously. So I'd really like to know how much of your energy you do put into this team that it seems to be aggravating you this much?

Um we do know what it feels like to be a Browns, Jaguars, or Chargers fan. Like those three teams we have not won a Super Bowl.

People aren't ungrateful. Some just aren't sheep who blindly follow everything our joke of an owner does.

Do you enjoy the shitshow that is this team every other year ? It's not fun to get your hopes up just to be let down year after year. JR has no idea how to build a consistent winner, his approach hasn't worked yet. . I'm tired of hearing "we could be the Browns, Jags etc....... we basically are those teams with just a little more success.
