The Dwayne Jarrett Touchdown Challenge

Sam Mills Fan

Dwayne Jarrett did not pass the Dwayne Jarrett Touchdown Challenge.

New challenge for next week: All Dwayne Jarrett has to do for me to eat my boxers on film is to catch a touchdown pass period. In any quarter.

bump.

Rosario being down probably bumps Jarrett's odds up from 2% chance to a solid 3% chance.

Anyone got stats to show how often he gets the ball when he's actually on the field? I feel like the one play per game that he goes in I see the ball thrown at him, he catches it, and then they pull him, never to be heard from again. I'm probably not paying close enough attention, but it sure seems that way.

I'd love to see find out how many plays he is acutally on the field for in past games.

I can think of 3 off the top of my head. Wait, ok maybe 2...

I can think of 4 plays I have seen him on the field for this year. 2 catches, 1 play where he trailed on a hail mary in Atlanta, and one play last week where they had him in motion in the backfield.

It would be extra work for reporters, but they should be able to chart how many plays guys are on the field for, what the formations were and publish that every week for O and D.

Didn't you know Fireball? They are too busy coming up with Pepp to NE rumors and speculation to work on something worthwhile. Shame on you...:D

So if we expand those numbers over the course of a game, and he's in for 20 pass plays, he'll get 10 receptions a game. I knew he'd shape up to be the HOFer I saw him as on draft day.

I don't mind the opinion stuff, but some cold hard facts to chew on every once in awhile would be nice from people who are full time beat writers for the team. It would give them something to do while Fox does his pressers since they can cut and paste those every week. :P

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
