Thoughts on the game.

1. Horrible defense and lack of energy. Reaching in nonstop and complaining over every non-call.

2. Kemba struggled against Teague. Teague was doing anything he wanted on the offensive end. He got into the lane with ease and created open shots all night.

3. This is a game where we miss MKG and Nic.

4. Wiggins is really good.

5. Monk's passing impressed, but unfortunately for us and him if he doesn't have a great shooting night we won't win a lot of games while Nic and MKG are out.

6. Frank is the ultimate love/hate player. First few games of the year, it looked like he turned the corner. The past few games, back to what we thought he was.

7. Once again, if we can't have the defensive intensity we are in trouble.

Not too worried at all.. I predicted we would go 4-3 in October and 5-8 in November and 6-10 in December Before Batum and MCW and MKG got dinged.. I am happy we are where we are at.. Wolves are in the top 4 in the West (GS, SA, MIN, LAC).. The upcoming Knicks game might be a bounce back game for us.. if we can just make it to Christmas hanging around .500 - we will be fine.. Jan, Feb and March are gunna be good months down the stretch..

Agree with your assessment. We need to hold down the fort until we get our pieces back. I am really interested to see how we handle Lamb when Batum returns. Lamb has really made himself into a good player for us.

Frank had a horrible defensive game yesterday. -31 plus minus. Kemba was next worse at -18. That's hard to do.

I didn't like the lineups last night. Marvin was playing great and only 21 minutes compared to Frank. I think coach Cliff does an amazing job but sometimes I wish he would ride the hot hand and get away from his planned minutes

    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a center who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
    • Will be interesting to see how they come out tonight. The Boston game seemed to open the flood gates of media attention. And it’s not just that they’re playing well, in some instances they are getting compared with all time greats. This is still a young team, and it would be easy for an immature team to lose some focus, buy into their own hype, and think they can coast bit. The Heat are a middle of the road team without their leading scorer. There is no big dragon to slay, no big statement to make. I think we’ll learn a lot tonight: are they young but mature, or do they still have a ways to go mentally?
    • Panthers North for the win. Good luck to him. Great guy, hated to see him leave here, but he's about to work with the best QB he's ever worked with (at least on a regular basis).
