Vontae Davis is a Free Agent. Is he better than Daryl Worley? LOL.

Yes lets sign a guy who needs groin surgery.  Recipe for success...Even Hurney who is as clueless as any GM comes is not that stupid.

Great, thanks a lot. Now we will sign him and give him a million dollar signing bonus. Never challenge Hurney’s stupidity....

Hurnia won't even make any moves on this guy and that is typical on his ability to fail doing this that just could benefit us but Davis he would make us better then Hurnia should get off his dead behind and do something. I know I had a negative comment but whatever helps up get the upper-hand then get it done.

I'm not the world's biggest Hurney fan, but if he stays away from this, it'll be the right call.

How does a guy who'll be sitting out the rest of the year with an injury and be a free agent at the end of the season "make us better"?

Are we looking to improve our depth on Injured Reserve?

Yes I agree. Truth is I don't want to do what Pats have done like gathering injured players. If we don't have a need for him don't bother with it.

I understand he needs groin surgery so I really dont think we should sign him because we are in win now mode.  But since he has been cut, and is a free agent how would we be responsible for his old contract?  Wouldnt we be giving him a new contract if we were to sign him? I will admit I know very little about how NFL contracts work.

This whole situation as pretty shady apparently.  He claims to have missed time this year due to the injury, but the Colts maintain that he missed time for 'rest.'

Pagano claims that Davis not playing is a coaches decision and not injury related.

If we took him on waivers, we would assume whatever is left of his current contract, which only extends through the end of this season. Very bad idea.

If we waited till he cleared waivers, we could sign him to a new contract. But at that point, you're still paying a guy this year who won't play until next year...at the earliest.

If his injury is serious enough, you could wind up paying a guy an entire year's worth of salary for not playing a single snap.

Not a good deal.
