That is how we should play defense. We harassed all game, get good lead. Then go soft, nearly lose. Cam saves us and we play aggressive D to finish out. 

 

Hopefully they learned something today.

Agree. I know he gets hate on here, but Shaq is really solid off the blitz. We could have used that today. In the end, they got the job done and got the W

That is my biggest issue with Ron and coaching staff. Makes me sick to play not to lose and lose. I would rather lose fighting our asses off.

Playing soft was not the issue.  Allowing 8-10 yard passes go for 40 yards after the catch is.

Exactly the soft coverage before is the reason they came back in the game.

Love the off coverage but still send LBs and to blitz.

I think the most important thing a D can do is make a QB uncomfortable. Even poo Web's can sit back and find yards without pressure.

Tackling was still an issue today. We need to do the fundamentals before thinking of the picks, the highlight hits etc...

It made a huge difference.  After characteristically letting them back in the game, we uncharacteristically went aggressive and uncharacteristically ended the game rather easily on their last drive.  It was a thing of beauty.

I can understand that. Though if you give 8-10 every play, not long until they are in FG range or scoring on us. We are not bringing the fight, we are being reactive.

The most memorable moment for me on this was Tony Romo saying "Carolina's playing soft again" about a half second before that long touchdown to Adam Thielen.

I remember thinking "well that's just perfect".

True.  If we we're up 7or8 then I agree wholeheartedly.

But we wanted then to take time and get clock to under 3 min.  Instead of letting them get anscore with 5 min lwft

Agreed, that is exactly how we ended the game. With our DB's off but sending pressure. It works, get QB out of rhythm.
