If you compare our receiving stats to 2015 difference this year was no Ginn and Olsen who accounted for 1800 yards in 15. On defense no josh Norman now

I'm actually surprised we're still ranked in the top 10 defensively after watching our secondary get torched so many times this season.

Thing that stood out the most to me is the 27th ranked passing offense and #16 passing defense. Just not good and confirms what I've been seeing all season long from them . We're in dire need of upgrades at saftey and WR in the offseason

Really our only current weapons on offense are cmc and Olsen and of course Cam

Is it safety or CB that most needs the upgrade?

At Least Bradberry and Worely have shown flashes this season (ex. Green Bay and Minnesota) that they can be decent corners. I've consistently seen our safteys missing tackles and out of positon/no where near their man deep/middle of the of field.

At least the organization has tried through the draft last year and especially in 2016 by drafting 4 damn CBs in 2 years .

Here's the last safteys we drafted since 2010

2010 : Jordan Pugh, 6th  Rounder

2012 : DJ Campbell , 7th Rounder

2014 : Tre Boston , 4th Rounder

That means in the last 7 whole years , we drafted a grand total of 3 safteys and the highest one was drafted in round 4.  0 of them are still on the team today.

Right now we have a couple of aging, relatively short (both 5'11'') safteys that on the regular get out maneuevered by running backs and WRs on other teams and they are horrible at helping out Bradberry and Worely on the back end.

I think our secondary problems are less about Bradberry and Worely , and more about god aweful saftey play and a inconsistent pass rush.

Can’t believe our offense and defense are both tied in scoring, which the most important stat

You would think our defense would be better

If its wrong then that's ESPNs fault. ESPN says that the Panthers are tied with ATL for the 11th ranked scoring defense (Opponents PPG : 20.3 points)  , and the Panthers are listed as the 11th ranked scoring offense (PPG : 23.5) .

Our defense has been pretty terrible in a number of different contests , at least in terms of coverage in the secondary .

Thanks for the stats update. It's interesting to me that as our offense has improved, our defense has gotten worse, at least in the stats rankings.

Any idea where ST ranks? Got to be the highest in the Rivera era. ST indeed has been huge for us this season. Won us at least 3 games.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
