I think Nick Chubb will probably be the best back for the value of where hes going to go . Probably early to mid 2nd like Dalvin Cook last year. Royce Freeman and Josh Adams will be in the mid rounds somewhere most likely as well

Chubb reminds me of a young Stewart Short strong back with great speed for his size

Yes he’s a good player with good hands but not nearly as fast as other top backs like gurley

He’s every bit as fast as Gurley. He has been timed at 4.33 in the 40. He’ll go top 5 easily. Best RB prospect to come out since Peterson.

4.33 supposedly at a pro day but laser timed in 4.66 as a recruit. I take those spring hand times with a grain of salt If gud at the combine likely 4.65 He probably won’t run as it will cost him money Gurley was a 10.7 sprinter

Tell you what. If/when he runs, let’s make this interesting. Anything you want to bet. I’ll take under 4.45. Since you think he’s an 4.65 guy, this is “easy money” for you. If you can’t see that he is faster than 4.65 by just watching him play, you’re doing it wrong.

Yur on! No way he is under 4.45 He’s a good player just won’t be running away from anyone in the pros. I doubt he runs at the combine

What’s at stake? Cash. Posting rights? Lifetime ban? He’ll run. If he was worried about his draft status he wouldn’t be playing today. Not sure why he is playing, but that’s another discussion entirely.

Haha he just went on a 90 yard run. But posting rights sure

I honestly don’t want you to lose yours, or mine( I’m confident but anything could happen). Let’s just make it a good “I told you so” and keep talking about the rest of draft. Don’t want to lose any potential draft discussions over a guy we will not even get near.

The timing of the run was funny, but then the announcers started piling on with all his coaches quotes and I could imagine what was running through your mind. Been there many times myself...lol.

    • I think Dan pushes more than Fritter did but not enough to shed that title.  I think that's a huge assumption. He was second tier up there. Reid and owners being teir 1. So he actually could have been and still been a good fit. They have done lots of questionable stuff while he was up there but they were winning so it all flew under the radar anyways. Him coming out and being quoted the way he was leads me to think he runs that way plenty.
    • Eh...I don't think Carroll is to blame for Mayer. He is a 3rd year player and has never really been able to elevate above a JAG status across multiple coaches. TBH, I think he is much more Tommy Tremble than he is Brock Bowers. Tremble might even be a good comp.  I am not lobbying to get rid of Tremble but he has basically hit his Ian Thomas wall. He is who he is. If you lined up all 5 years of statistics and tape, you'd be hard pressed to determine which player was the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year guy. He's a decent and rosterable TE. He's also a guy that we should be actively trying to upgrade over.....and we have. Sanders was the first and then we still drafted Evans. Some of this was we run a TE heavy offense and had an even worse TE room but some of it has also been that Tremble is a complimentary/role player. He really shouldn't be getting anywhere near the bulk of snaps.
