It sure hasn't done much to keep it from happening either. While teams have benefitted from turnovers by the offense, the defense hasn't stopped anyone outside of Washington either.

I don't look at our defense as being worse than last year.. and with a little help in stopping the run, perhaps a bit better.

As you note, neither the offense or the defense have helped the other or worked in concert with one another very often. Most of the ingredients for success last year have been missing this year. Maybe this is the week that things will click. The defense does appear to be improving. The offense is still the side of the ball that has something to prove.
