Some of that Kalil $ could have gone toward keeping Norwell

Nope.  I just addressed Dawg while quoting you.

You're talking about people having "Stockholm syndrome" when nobody starts Gettleman threads but the haters. Hell, you take every opportunity you possibly can to bring his name up.  It's like you're obsessed.

So who's stuck in the past again?

Too bad it's affecting the present,  regardless of the blinders.

Riley Reiff was an infinitely better prospect.  I could have stomached losing  Norwell for him.

Reiff's deal is more than double the cap hit of Kalil.

11-5 with Kalil at left tackle. Upgrade from the disaster of 2016 when Oher couldn't come back. Get over Gettleman cutting players whose posters are on your bedroom ceiling.

Shame we don't have someone who's better at handling the cap in charge, huh?

And please Dawg, you start at least one thread a week crying about something Gettleman did.  Give it a rest. Give us a rest.

He cut your favorite player and let another one walk.  Get over it.

Blow out the candles and take down the newspaper clippings and photos of your Gettleman shrine.

And who might that favorite player be?  Don't become like others with their red herrings.  You were doing fine with hyperbolically accusing me of starting Gettleman threads every week.

I just never will get why Matt Kalil was given such a lucrative deal befitting of a top 11 LT.  To me it just showed a lack of foresight.  That bit of money could have been the very thing to help to keep Norwell a Panther for the long term. It most certainly could have been used for the short term as a bridge to the long term.  How you like them apples...?

Did I just create an elephant in the room?

Really, this is a b****!

According to sportrac...

Kalil had the 18th largest cap hit of all left tackles in 2017.

Kalil is projected to have the 20th largest cap hit of all left tackles in 2018 (prior to free agency).  This will certainly go down if there are any decent FAs out there.

The pain, if there is any, does not start until year 3 - prior to which we can cut him if he is not performing.

A lot of ignorant angst here.

And of course you go back to this stuff again. You're clearly emotional about this stuff.

It's not hyperbolic.  Heck, look back at the recent threads.  Pretty much nobody's starting "I wish we had Gettleman" threads, but like clockwork you come in with another spin on the same complaint, over and over and over again.

Like I said,  rationalize all you like if it makes you feel better.

That .gif is classic.

You're still being hyperbolic though.

You better hope we win this thing within the next decade.  Life ain't promised,  and we're aging.  So...

Barely 48 hours ago Scot was ranting about Eric Shelton, and that was a damn decade ago.

Now he's here telling someone to let front office mistakes go from last season that are very much affecting us now?

Come on man.

Do tell!

    • The right answer is neither and drafting Maye with the #1 Pick of the 2024 Draft lmfao we traded away the #1 in a QB LOADED DRAFT
    • I have no idea why you are so irrationally upset about the notion that going out and spending $150 million free agency dollars on two interior offensive linemen could be construed as a panic response after our #1 pick we traded a fortune for had one of the worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years. It is objectively what transpired. Dan Morgan as of right now is a mixed bag. Some really good some so so some not so good some bad some really bad. You take any rational criticism personally like you are related to him or something. That's something you'll have to figure out for yourself. Anyways. The predicament Dan Morgan finds himself in for this year will define his future as GM. I sincerely hope he navigates it to perfection. But the circumstances are largely of his own creation. And not just in his stint as GM but going back to his time as assistant GM. Which conveniently people like yourself don't like to talk about. That is the reality of the situation. I like how you will carry water for Dan Morgan to the point of getting into random spats with people but make no mention of Bryce Young's glaring limitations and shortcomings as a starting QB yet go out of your way to put the onus of our struggles squarely on Canales. I mean I've been quite critical of Canales too but he sure isn't the only one to blame for our problems.
    • They weren't well thought out. We needed one, not both. 2 top center/guard candidates were going to be available in the 2nd. We would have been fine with JPJ or Frazier. Drafting either over XL or Brooks would have made perfect sense. Hell, drafting both would have made sense even if we had signed Lewis or Hunt. Instead we drafted a 1 year wonder project WR and a luxury RB that we didn't need since we had Hubbard. Draft IOL, pay tackles. Plenty of 2nd round guards and centers start immediately and play very well. Those 2 picks were not good then, now, no matter how much explaining anyone tries to do. Several of called it then.
