I was thinking the same thing. And that’s largely the whole sentiment of the huddle.. basically it’s code for we don’t one of those owning a team. Listing him last and largely having nothing positive at all to say about the made like he’s a human joke.

I don't want him anywhere near the team because his pitch was to turn the franchise into a fuging joke. The "North Carolina Panthers"(which I admittedly agree is true)? Sign Kaepernick and have an OPEN QB COMPETITION?? The best halftime shows??? Please go fug yourself, P. Dumbass.

I wanted to strangle him after the line about having an open QB competition. Shows how fuging little he even knows about the fuging team. He is just being a fuging attention whore.

See, I'd imagine White telling people"you suck" and "get the #@$& out of the building".

Agree about the sideshow aspect. To be fair, that kind of helped the UFC get to where they are now, but it's not something I'd want the Panthers to embrace.

Nah, for all the TV show BS that you saw on The Ultimate Fighter, he didn't often treat his fighters like that. Maybe Tito but I think that was also a pretty big dose of promotional nonsense too.

I agree that without him, the UFC probably never gets off the ground. He was the key factor into turning that organization into what it was at it's peak. And probably making that the best investment the Fertitta's ever made. lol

Now that I agree with....I have no problem with him wanting to sign kap. Is there a legit reason for him not to be on a roster other than political? No. But you do already have a franchise qb and you can’t cant just supplant him cause you want to.  The North Carolina Panther thing comes with just not knowning... how many Rich people buy teams and come in with largely the same knowledge base about football. There just rich guys.

The half time shows would be cool though in my opinion.

Ortiz is legitimately kind of an a--hole though (not that Shamrock wasn't a bigger one).

I've read a lot of stuff about the sale, and nobody who's done deep analysis of it gives him much of a serious shot. And it's not racial. It has more to do with the fact that some of the others involved bring a lot more financial firepower.

And "North Carolina"? Come on. Given how big a fan he was already supposed to be of Julius Peppers, how do you not know the name of the team he plays for? You performed at their Super Bowl for crying out loud.

I don't have a problem with signing him as a BACKUP QB for a reasonable contract. But, I also didn't forget him mocking Cam when he was on the 49ers. Plus, while I respect the hell out of him for taking a personal stand on the protest issue....the dude was always a below average QB and frankly a little bitch.

The half time shows would be an insane waste of money. I don't want a sideshow owner and if he was rich enough to have the reigns(something we all know he isn't) he would definitely turn us into a joke. If you think that JR meddles now, imagine having that dumbass meddling. JR actually played football in the NFL. I doubt P. Diddy could even name 2-3 players on our team.

I see that a different way.

Talking about wanting your team to sign a particular quarterback says "hands on owner".

Not good, and especially not if it's for something other than football reasons. You want to make a political statement? Say whatever you want, but do it without interfering in the football team.

Whomever buys the team, I want them to hire a smart football person to make those decisions and then sit back and keep their hands off. We've already had a hands on owner and it sucked. The next one needs to stay out of the way.

Meddling would be a issue as I see him as largely a diva atttitude. But would having great halftime shows really be a negative? A lot of fans would love to have a concert caliber halftime show. That would increase ticket sales just to see the spectical. That seems largely positive without a negative drawback but mostly everything else you said is true.

Agreed. But just because we don’t know enough about these other guys personality doesn’t mean they wouldn’t do the same thing. I think any new owner would at first want to go hands on with the team. I just paid 2 billion plus for this thing and my ego is already inflated by all the business success I have had in the past.

I mean, I guess from a marketing perspective that could be true but what happens when the ticket prices are through the roof because of the expense of the halftime shows? You aren't going to get big time acts there for free. Now imagine that a portion of the stadium is just to watch the halftime show and they really don't give a poo about the game. I get the increased entertainment level but I do think there are some potential drawbacks that could make that a pretty poor idea. Besides, halftime is for going to take a leak, basically.

Yeah but the biggest difference to me is that we KNOW P. Diddy would meddle. It's just his personality. The rest of the crowd we will just have to gamble on. We might end up with a great owner or we might end up with Dan Snyder.

There's a lot we don't know about all of them. Even what we do know is up for interpretation.

Sabates, for example, is it friend of Ron Rivera. Can we trust that he would make decisions regarding Rivera's performance objectively?

Navarro's father is a football coach, so you would expect him to have some knowledge of the game. On the surface, that's a good thing, but what if it also means he wants to meddle in the team decision making?

We're flying blind on a lot of things here.

There are a few names who have been chattered about that I chose to leave off of here:

Brian France: Will he? Won't he? People have said he's doing it but France himself has directly denied having any involvement. And yes, that might be what you'd expect him to say, but I'd need to see something more.

Jeff Bezos: Aside from chatter that he might want to buy an NFL team, I've seen nothing to seriously link him to the Panthers. This fact that he knocked Charlotte off the list of options for his new headquarters also doesn't help.

Michael Jordan: Pretty much nobody outside of Sanjay and a few other fans actually thinks Jordan is going to make a bid.

Jon Bon Jovi: Yes, he's tried to buy an NFL team before and obviously he wants to own one, but he doesn't have the cash on his own and there's been nothing to connect him to the Panthers.

For the record, of the names we've heard, the bids I take most seriously right now are Navarro, Fertitta and Sabates. All the others I'm less certain of happening. Heck, even Navarro and Fertitta might not materialize. You never know.

It also won't surprise me if there are names we haven't heard of yet who are very seriously involved in the process. Billionaires frequently operate in secret, and most of the people who are involved at this point would have signed non-disclosure agreements.

(which makes me wonder how and why Sabates keeps yapping)

Hoping for more real news at some point.

Don't need any baggage carrying, bad image circus clown like Krapperstick ruining Panthers Organization more than it is now. Nobody even will bring in a QB(not even a top 10) that had stabbed 49's in the back and turned his nose up at them as well as NFL and just up and quit on them on his own accord which put that target of "we don't want a backstabbing QB that turns his back on his own team". He screwed his own career up which put him out of NFL.

What exactly is his bad image? This guy has been a model citizen and beyond. In fact he has donated so much to under privilege youth that I have lost count. Clown? Oh yeah he kneeled for the anthem.
