I’d feel better about Shaq if he made that tackle against Kamara at the goal line. He bounced right off and gave up the TD. I think he’s got the tools but I wanna see a dominant game from him this year to really start believing.

Last year it seemed that the team got away from the form tackles emphasised by McDermott. I'd love to see the kid in his true LB spot. We got killed on a good amount of those Buffalo Nickel formations.

yeah he's not a slot corner.  i have no idea why the coaching staff kept pushing that.

You guys can emmotionally poo on me all day, idc

it makes no sense on paper and cap wise to have TD on the team this year. Good teams dont keep guys because of feelings.

To be fair. LOTS of guys get a "Fair Well Tour". Usually they are for guys that played well, and had a pretty darn good career. You have to have accomplished something to merit getting one. Both TD, and Kalil have earned their Tours.

IMO, it is rather disingenuous to try and cheat these two guys out of their Fair Well Tour. They have given Carolina their all during very distinguished careers. I guess loyalty doesn't mean as much to some people.

I just want to win. Ive had enough feel good stories and not enough winning. I think this team is too emmotionally based and that plays into the fluctuations we see short term and long term.

    • Absolutely. He just turned 27 a few days ago, so quite young. He and Moehrig would be quite the pairing.  I know we say this every year, but this FA period has A LOT of talent that will be switching uniforms. We were aggressive last year and have no doubt this time next week will have some studs on defense.
    • DJ Moore has always been a bit of an enigma. He came here young, flashed a ton of potential, but never truly grew into a real #1. He’s had a few good reasons, but yet to have a real monster season (outside of his first year with Chicago) We’re still waiting for him to blossom, but he will be 29 next season. I fear that it is too late for him at this point.
    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a right T who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
