NFC south position group rankings

Quick look at how we stack up at these groups and potential draft needs for each team.

QB'S- I am so biased towards Cam and against the rest so I won't even bother ranking this group.

RB'S

  1. New Orleans - Ingram and & Kamara
  2. Atlanta - Freeman and Coleman
  3. Panthers - CMC
  4. Buc's -Jacquizz Rodgers

Looks like us and the Bucs will be in the market for a running back in this draft

WR'S

  1. Buc's Evans, Jackson, Humphries and Godwin
  2. Falcons Jones, Sanu and Hardy
  3. Saints -Thomas, Ginn,
  4. Panthers Funchess and crew

Bucs and Falcons seem fairly stacked at the position. Leaving us and the Saints most likely looking for one in the draft.

TE.

  1. 1.Bucs- Brate and Howard
  2. 2. Panthers- Olsen
  3. 3. Falcons, Austin Hooper
  4. 4. Saints- Josh Hill

Saints are in the most dire need here but anyone outside of the Buc's may consider looking for one in the draft.

O-line. I cant recite every starter on our rivals o-line so I'll defer to PFF's rankings here.

  1. Falcons
  2. Saints
  3. Panthers
  4. Bucs

I think a lineman could be in play for any of us in the draft, but if you buy into PFF's ranking's, us and the Bucs are in the biggest need here.

D-line

  1. Panthers
  2. Bucs
  3. Saints
  4. Falcons

Bucs added Pierre Paul and Vinny Curry. Saints remained the same and Falcons lost Poe and Clayborn.

Got to think D-line will be priority for both Saints and Falcons

LB'S

  1. Panthers
  2. Falcons
  3. Bucs
  4. Saints

We run away this one pretty easily. Bucs and Saints could use an infusion of talent here.

Secondary

  1. Saints  Lattimore, Bell, Williams and Crawley. Plus good depth
  2. Falcons Trufant, Neal, Allen and Alford
  3. Panthers- You know
  4. Bucs - Grimes and thats about it.

Bucs are in dire need here even moreso than us.

In summary we rank dead last in receiving core, which is slightly offset with Olsen ranking 2nd in the tight end group. I also have us pegged at 3rd in o-line, secondary and  at RB.

    • I think you have to give Draft picks at least two years to know what you've got: Legette is looking like a bust Brooks is unfortunate - with modern medicine he should have been fine Wallace is struggling Sanders can play Smith-Wade is mediocre Crumedy... is on the roster? Barrett got us Mike Jackson Not exceptional, but if someone else besides Sanders can contribute it's not a cripplingly bad haul.
    • Saints might not be as beatable as some expected. Finishing 4th in that race would be ugly. Less wins than last year would be ugly. Hard to sell building anything when they can't get to 5 wins again
    • I don't know what the right protection call is to stop those stunts or even if there is one. Are twists and stunt successful because a protection wasn't called correctly or because the oline and RB did not execute correctly.  I know some teams leave those calls to the center. I don't know enough about that aspect of the game to define fault.  If that is a problem Bryce has always had dating back to college it would seem an easy fix to take that off his plate.
