Justin Reid, FS, Stanford. The Panthers would be ecstatic to get Reid here. Expect them to look at trading up for him earlier in Round 2.

Rashaan Gaulden, CB,Tennessee. Considering Gaulden can contribute right away as a slot corner, this could be a steal.

55. Panthers — Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn: Carolina is in desperate need of reinforcements at corner. Davis' size (6-1, 206) makes him better suited to take on super-sized NFC South receivers like Julio Jones, Michael Thomas and Mike Evans.

The Panthers took the first receiver off the board by calling D.J. Moore's name at No. 24. That helps out a passing game that needed an injection of talent, but the squad could use some assistance in the secondary. Justin Reid is arguably the best safety available. He's an athletic, ball-hawking talent who can start Week 1.

The only way ill accept a trade up for anyone is if we only need to give up 1 additional pick. Anymore than that, I will rage hard at Hurney.

I think Hurneys going to try really hard to trade one of our 3rds to move up to get Reid or Bates III .

From Walterfootball, who I think got 9 picks correct in terms of the players they predicted going to the teams they predicted (not nessarily at the same exact pick #s, b/c of trades). They also narrowly missed on a bunch of picks.

Walter : Panthers R2 : Ronnie Harrison (SS)  (lot of good players went ahead of us like Ried, which is pointing to a probable trade up) , Panthers R3 : Connor Williams (listed as G or OT), Panthers R3 : Duke Dawson (CB)

Charlie : Panthers R2 : Justin Reid (FS) , Panthers R3 : Chad Thomas (DE) , Panthers R3 : Duke Dawson (CB) 

Almost all signs pointing to the WRs and RBs flying off early in the Round pushing the Safteys down to us, which is good.

Im fully for trading up for Reid even if we give up #88.

He could fall and that would be a dream.

 

Out of the remaining Safeties, Reid is by far the best in coverage.  In one of the worst pass ddfenses in the league. We need a centerfielder who can cover.
