GM...no way...but assuredly there is a role for him here

What makes you think Peyton Manning would take a role like Director of College Scouting or some such?

Elway didn't exactly work his way up from the bottom.

Has a minority owner ever been an announcer?  This seems like it might be a conflict of interest.

Even if he were going into announcing, which he isn't, how would that be a conflict of interest?

Thats what I was asking.  Has an announcer ever owned a team and if so what is the level of conflict?  Doesn't feel right but that doesn't matter.

If you're looking for clueless and gutless, look for the 29-year-old DE who beat his gf and tweeted a pic of his ignorant ass speeding on the freeway

A charge dropped like a fart in the wind when all was said and done.  Weren’t CAP and Shaq charged or sued with reckless driving?

Not sure you read my post carefully. I was questioning what makes you think it would be a conflict of interest...

Obviously he'd be a biased announcer if he were announcing one of his own team's games, but announcers don't have any real power to affect the outcome of games.

So no, I don't think it would matter.

I did, it wasn't that long and complicated.  I said it seems like a conflict of interest, and I wonder if it was.  I am conflicted and I don't know.  An owner of a team has a bias toward their asset and I wonder if a broadcast booth would allow an owner to maintain a consistent broadcasting career given that they would have to broadcast their own team.    Its hypothetical I know.  I have watched enough announcing to know that there is not much impartial broadcasting going on out there.

So our potential new part owner has been involved in multiple heinous allegations yet it’s time to move on from our 29 year old all time single season sacks leader who hasn’t been replaced and would love another shot?

Yeah he got all those sacks in 3 or 4 games. Didn't show up in any of the others and was invisible in the playoff game. Hardy was finished when he was with Dallas.

One less Dal/Pit/NE/NYG bias in the booth would be nice.

Yep, so easy a caveman could do it-exactly why no one but HOFer Kevin Greene has done before or since and why he was THE reason we beat our two biggest rivals for the 1st division title in 5 years.

Joe Staley was also 1st team All-Pro and in his prime as well.
