Thoughts and Impressions - Preseason Week 1

Was also disappointed in Haynes. It seems like he has only one move and that's a speed rush to the outside. On more than a couple of occasions, he was out of position during a run, particularly notable on the TD run by the Bills. I saw the staff talking to him afterwards, coaching him up, if you will.

He's a project, to be sure. Needs a bit more weight and some quality time with Peppers.

Does a 6th or 7th round pick really get you somebody that's going to fix that situation though?

It could possibly make a difference in moving up a few of picks in, say, (for example) the 4th round if needed to get a better player or a target that has "dropped" and you're afraid they might not "drop" enough to reach you.

Just an example... 6th and 7th rounders do have *some* limited utility.

This is where you and I disagree.

I don't consider CAP good depth, and Hood is still more potential than performance.

This is the first preseason game less not go overboard. If Hood out performs CAP in all preseason games then I wood consider him as #3, but not until then. Hell CAP performed well in all preseason games last yr and still didn't sniff much playing time but we do havea different OC.
