6 players on the roster bubble due to OL Situation - will be interesting to watch Fri night

I just posted this table in another thread, but as we try to figure out which guys might get the final roster spots on the defense, it's interesting to look at the combined stats player by player for each of the two preseason games.  I've created a stat called "impact / snap" (far right). - total defensive stats / total snaps.

Had no idea before I did this that Obada was the stat leader among the DEs.  Dang, tough tough roster decisions ahead.  Maybe the 2 DEs to make the roster will be Obada & Haynes?  All 4 of Obada, Haynes, Hall & Cox are PS eligible.  Now the question becomes who is most likely to clear waivers.

Good to see Butler stepping up...

Shaq!!  The Year of 54.  'Nuff said.  Carter too is showing out.  (What's up with Luke?  Such a Slacker....!)

Elder is making a really strong case for himself.  I'd say too tight to call among Doss, Gunter & Seymour.  Tomorrow will tell us more.

Colin Jones IS making the roster... sorry for all those who don't like that... Southward making a case, but I just don't see how there's room, unless Searcy remains in the protocol for more than 1 week....

At first, I'm agreeing with you. Then I'm thinking that Barner could be more durable. Both are good guys to have on the team, but there isn't room for both and possibly no room for either.

This is going to be an interesting couple of preseason games for those who really pay attention to the second and third stringers. Good performances from either could get them a spot on this team, or another. Solid talent ahead of them and hungry young players behind them.

Byrd returns are better then Barner. He actually gives the offense good field position. He almost gains 30 yards on every kick return.
