Where would you rank Brett Favre?

(or John Elway for that matter)

One of the things that I think sometimes gums up quarterback discussions is that people don't always differentiate between type of quarterback and quality of quarterback. Joe Montana and Jeff Garcia are the same type of quarterback (West Coast) but I don't think anybody would say their of similar quality.

Style wise, Newton falls under the same category as guys like Favre, Roethlisberger and others. Big, tough, high velocity, general vicinity accuracy.

You build a different team around those guys than the kind you build around a Dan Marino or a Drew Brees. Green Bay understood that and built around Favre accordingly. It's on us to do that with Newton also.

Elway and Favre both played in eras where completing passes was much harder (re: QB and receiver protection),  but the Cam similarities are definitely there in terms of play style and grit (though Cam represents a much more dangerous ground threat than anyone else in the big, tough, gunslinger category).

Definitely think that Panthers need more go up and get it type guys (like KB should have been), not shifty WCO guys.

There's a lot of speculation about his shoulder.

I've been noticing his lack of deep ball for some time now...seems like opposing defensive coordinators are taking note now too.  It may not all be the loss of Ginn that is affecting this part of our offense.

Cam is all world talent but when it counted the most today, his read progressions at the end were awful...

Brady wins that game at the end

Brees wins that game at the end

Rothlisberger just beat the Bengals at the end

Rodgers wins that game in the end

Rodgers has 18 game winning drives

Newton has 16 game winning drives

It’s like everyone forgot Moore fumbled twice.

Everyone saying it's Norve or Ron or the defense or whatever seem to forget this.  It Moore does not fumble 2 times in 1 quarter we win this game.  It's probably not even close.  You want to blame someone there is the guy you blame.
